Double-check that you got the right housing before installation.
Update: Got my refund, ordered a replacement kit (from "Real Good Cycles" this time around), which had the right parts, and installed the correct housing. This was still a pain in my butt, and a temporary hazard for me, and Amazon doesn't have a clear way to rate a seller *along* with the product. So, I'll bump it up to three stars, but the point still stands - double-check your stuff before you install it, or you might discover your mistake while you're on the road.Original review follows.---------------------------------Included 4mm shift housing (for shifters) and 5mm shift housing... for brakes... Huh?I'm a new cyclist, learning the ins and outs of repair work. I bought this kit to replace the housing on my main road bike. Followed some YouTube videos, easy as pie (so long as you have real cable cutters).I bought a second kit three weeks later to replace the housing on a new (to me) bike I purchased. This time, I noticed the brake housing was distinctly different... I looked into it more and it turns out the first kit included 5mm shift housing (Jagwire LEX) for the brakes... which is dangerous, because that housing can split open under braking loads... and I've been riding on that for three weeks. At least I found out before experiencing a failure on the road!I've included some photos that show the first kit (green Giant) with the 4mm LEX-SL shift housing, and the 5mm LEX, ostensibly for the brakes. The second kit (blue Cannondale) included 5mm CGX-SL instead (along with 4mm LEX-SL), which is a coiled steel cable, meant to withstand braking loads. The seller for my purchase was "Trail This" (with a 99% positive rating), and the order was fulfilled by Amazon. The kit I got from "Real Good Cycles" was just fine. Both packages came in unmarked plastic bags (not retail packaging) so I don't know if the error happened in Jagwire's factory or downstream from them. In any case, now I have to waste my time to fix it.

Great kit in quality, comes a bit short for shifter quantity
To preface this review, I am replacing all the brake and shift cables (inners & outers) on a run of the mill, wall mart mongoose bike with 26β wheels. The product came with all the pieces pictured, the cables and jackets seem to be of good quality, the jackets are pre lubed inside. The brake lines were first to be changed and all went well. The only problem I had was the inner cable end that goes to the lever was different, I was able to drill the lever bracket to accommodate the cable end. *note* if you are looking to install with no way of drilling, be very attentive to all the ends so you select the proper parts. I did not deduct starts for this adjustment because it was an oversight on my end.Installing the shifter cables is where I ran into a problem. The inner cable end was the perfect fit for the shift mechanisms, that is great! Unfortunately the kit did not include enough outer jacket to create all new pieces. *note* the outer jacket material comes in two long pieces. One sized for the brakes, one sized for the shifter. You are to cut the pieces you need out of the long pieces. *good side cutters are needed, or a hack saw*.I was disappointed that the kit did not supply enough outer jacketing to do the entire job. It was about 8β too short, so I had to reuse an old piece of jacketing. All in all this is a great quality kit with all the proper pieces, just not enough length for all new shifter outer jacketing. I should add that if you buy this kit for a bike that is a childβs bike or for a bike that only has a rear deurailler there should be plenty of outer jacket. Start with the worst pieces and leave the best for last in case there isnβt enough.

Excellent product - excellent service - nice price
During my restomod of my 30-year old Schwinn Tempo, I decided to move up to the 90's! LOL 6-spd to 7-spd conversion and, of course, needed cables for the STI functionality, After researching the available products, I opted fo rJagwire "brifter" cabling due to reviews and experience with the product. The interface was to be with MicroShift 7-spd brifters and new Shimano 105 dual pivot brakes with wet/dry Kool Stop brake pads. My preferred mechanic commented on how well I had matched component sand how well they all worked together. Braking and shifting functions work smoothly and effortlessly. I could not be more pleased with the result,The quality and workmanship of the cables and hardware are first rate. Cables move very smoothly and effortlessly within their sheaths, thus allowing smooth and well modulated breaking as well as crisp quick shifting; whether one step or three steps at a time.Very satisfied with my purchase and I found the price to be very competitive, compared to other vendors. Delivery was before promised delivery date and arrived in excellent condition. I would say packed iaw best commercial practices.I would recommend the product, as well as, the vendor to anyone in the market for quality upgrades to their bicycle.

Non-OEM packaging. Good Cables
I normally go for the Jagwire Road Pro complete cable kit, but it seems nobody is selling it on Amazon any more, and the separate kits seem to double the price of what the complete kit used to be.These cables came in non-OEM packaging and without instructions. The brake cable housings especially are a noticeable downgrade from the "Pro" version (significantly heavier, more difficult to cut). The inner shift cables are standard steel without the slick Teflon coating you get with the "Pro" version. While the Teflon gives a more slick initial feeling, my experience is that it tends to gum-up after 5,000 miles or so, so I actually prefer these standard steel cables. The shift inner cables seem particularly prone to fraying when cut, so be prepared to crimp immediately after cutting.Once installed, shifting and braking performance is good. Since they come without instructions, I cannot recommend these cables to novices.
