KAMASAN have been around a long time even my dad used them for his trout flies and I have used them for mine. I have swung back into Coarse fishing again and hooks to nylon do not cut it on our club carp infested lake, fish light and you will get smashed. These are a good around hookI have fished barbless for years now and even though I have lost a few fish but not because of the hooks themselves. These KAMASAN hooks are just as good as their competitors if not better depending what they are used for. Under a glass the points are needle sharp which improves hook penetration and the gape retains the hook in the mouth of the fish.I see now real issues with this hook, the eye is big enough to tie a Palomar or hair with a knotless knot even for my old eyes, the size 10's were easy enough to tie up and I have a packet of size 8's to tie when they arrive.Now locked and loaded to get that ghost carp that has smashed me five times up to now, I'm sure it was chuckling and waving it's fins at me as I packed up on Tuesday this week.
