Superb tools for illustration
Although these pens are designed for technical drawing, the precision and consistency makes them ideal for stippling, where felt-nibbed fineliner type disposable pens can spread and give inconsistent dot widths.I haven’t had any issues with blocking, but washing them out to change ink (I went black to white to black again) is definitely not a quick process — they take some effort to clean and dry. However, they’re very very good compared to anything else I’ve tried, and I can’t see me going back to micron-types now.The compass adapter in the kit is great, the pens actually screw into it solidly — very precise. The tikky pencil that comes with the set is a pleasure to use, and even the lid doubles as a handy rule and protractor.Very happy with the set.

Top quality set for a very reasonable price
At £32, this set was an absolute bargain, as it goes for upwards of £80 elsewhere. I was looking for quality fine line pens with waterproof ink for not only my artwork, but also for technical sketches. I already own and use Pitt artist's pens as well as Pigma Micron pens, but as these are refillable they are much less wasteful and built to last.I received a set with .50, .35 and .25 pens with a bottle of the rOtring ink, which will last a while. But it also comes with a fantastically precise mechanical pencil, a decent eraser and a compass attachment that I don't really know what to do with, but apparently if you have a r0tring compass it means you can attach the pens to it. Finally the cover of the set is a very handy isometric template/ruler. Highly recommend this set.

Super pen set
I was hoping to try out a Rotring Isograph pen. The individual pens are quite expensive on Amazon, and then I saw this set for the same price as one individual pen (the sets seem to have gone up a lot in price since I purchased in October 2021). Anyway, for the price of one pen, I got three pens each with a different sized nib, an automatic 0.5 pencil with a tube of the ubiquitous HB leads, an eraser, a bottle of ink, all in a nice case with a clear lid that has various stencils cut into it.The pens seem to be made of a fragile plastic and I'm not too sure of their longevity. I guess most of the cost of these pens go into the nibs which are very fine indeed. They draw a lovely deep black monoline using the ink provided. The ink appears to be waterproof. I did find however that the lines for each size nib, .25, .35, and .50, were all slightly thicker than the equivalent size disposable fineliners that I use.The eraser was nice, you can't have too many pencil erasers. I have a number of 0.5 automatic pencils but this one is nice and a bit more 'tecky' than the others I have. The only complaint I have is that when first filling the pen reservoir using the bottle applicator I ended up with ink all over the place. You can't get the nosal into the reservoir to avoid an air pocket. And then a bubble of ink formed around the mouth of the reservoir which no amount of pricking would break. Perhaps washing the reservoir in soapy water first would help, but in all subsequent fillings I used an ink syringe to draw ink directly from the bottle and squeeze it into the reservoir from the bottom. Perfect. But perhaps a better applicator could be engineered.A nice set to try out these pens. I'm really interested in obtaining the very fine nibs, but the finer the nib the more expensive they are.

My favourite size in the isograph range.
I’m fond of these isograph pens anyway, but the .13 is superb for details and adding smooth stippled values.I haven’t found it prone to clogging, but it does need the odd gentle wrist flick if you’re doing dot work with it at the same angle for extended periods. My only criticism of it is the same one I have of all isograph and rapid-o-graph pens — that the pen body itself is made of the world’s flimsiest plastic and you can break them just by slightly over tightening the cap when you screw it back on.

Very very scratchy
The 0.2 and 0.3 pens are very scratchy. The 0.5 is smooth. The pencil is fine.I used to use the Rapidograph 0.2 to write my college notes and love letters 50 years ago. They were excellent as precise pens. Nice and clear and black.I couldn't possibly use the 0.2 or 0.3 pens for any kind of loose, easy writing because they're tearing the surface of the paper as I write. It feels as though the needle down the pen hasn't been smoothed.
