Concept is good, but being smoothe silicone on inside didn't work well for me cooking outdoors at grill and smoker. Perspiration creates an unsafe slick condition in handling large junks of pork and brisket, or moving pots. The gloves do provide heat protection: I picked whole chickens from parboiling pots with relative comfort, and the long cuff somewhat protects wrists from splatter.the cost is not prohibitive to experiment with, but for general kitchen use, I think the standard cotton mitt is better.
