I have always loved to color
I have always loved to color, from the time I was able to pick up a crayon until now. Long before if became a trend, I have been coloring as a way to reduce stress. I would doodle with a black pen while I was on the phone (which is what I do for work at a call center) and then after I had a page full I would fill in with colored pencils. Now that “Adult Coloring Books” have become a trend, I have started finding more and more books available.I was a bit skeptical about being able to print from a kindle book, but there was a PDF file included that you can print from. You can choose to print one or two or the whole book multiple times. It is a book with low resolution images of coloring pages. Once you have the PDF, you can print the images and color away! I chose to print at home on regular copier paper and color one image at a time. It's great that you can use the same design and color many different ways if you wish. I have made my daughter (she's 13) a binder with a bunch of printouts from this and several other books and a pencil pouch with coloring pencils so she can take it wherever she wants. In regards to the designs, there are many designs that vary significantly in detail and complexity. Again, I see this as a positive since if I have less time on my hands, I can do a simpler design or I can share it with nephew to color. But, if I have more time on my hands or I really want to escape and relax into some coloring meditation for a while, I can choose a more complex design.I REALLY like the idea of a PDF that can be downloaded and the flexibility it provides for lots of fun family coloring. I'll definitely be checking to see if there are any other books available by this artist in the future.******If you found my review helpful please vote "YES" as this helps me become a better reviewer!***My review, my opinion and experience is honest and 100% genuine. . A Fantastic Book For Going Beyond Just Coloring In The Lines
I would never have thought I would buy a book about how to color - but I have a couple of friends who are into all sorts of different coloring techniques and they both have this book and raved about it. I feel like I have a lot to learn if I ever want to do anything other than just plain coloring.I'm glad I bought this book, as there is a lot of good info here. The author teaches us how to highlight and emphasize objects while coloring, different coloring techniques such as blending colors, highlighting, hatching, crosshatching and stippling, how to make your own color chart, and she takes you through coloring an entire picture, step by step, using different techniques. There are coloring pages in the back of the book to practice with. The book has just 46 pages but there is a lot of info here and all of it is helpful to me as an adult coloring enthusiast. The techniques are easy to understand and the step-by-step instructions are very helpful. This is the "Cat" edition, meaning that the main coloring picture the author takes us through is a picture of a cat, and I will also be buying the "how to color flowers" edition, as I color a lot of flowers in my coloring books.Overall, a five star book and one that I am really enjoying.

Helpful techniques for newbies
This short book takes the newbie colorist through some of the basics for using colored pencils on coloring book pages. Though not a newbie myself (hey, it was a free Kindle book, and you never know what you might find), I actually did learn a few tricks. Ekaterina demonstrates the steps for coloring three drawings of cats from start to finish. It's nice to read the narrative of what she did while looking at the pictures of each step to understand it visually. She doesn't demonstrate blending such as what I would use a colorless blender pencil for (to smudge and soften), because her style is to use mainly lines or hatching to "blend" colors, which is a different technique for me to try now. She's not a native English speaker, but she has a fairly advanced vocabulary and a good command of the language. In other words, her instructions are detailed, organized, and they make sense! She also includes a brief discussion of the different types of colored pencils, and sprinkles tips and tricks throughout the narrative. Lastly, she includes a link so you can download a PDF of five cat drawings, including the three she demonstrates. I'm not sure I would pay more than 99 cents for it (since it probably won't be $0.00 forever), but all in all it was a quick and helpful read.

Disappointing book
I wish I could rate this lower. I am so disappointed in this book. Only a few pages give instructions on how to color . It is centering on cats in this book so you do get 5 pages of cats to color after going through the tutorial pages .... but I don't like cats .. so this is not a plus to me at all ...you have 3 cats that the author gives direction on how to color .. which is ok but I thought this book was a general book on how to color anything ... there are only maybe 5 pages on basic coloring instruction .. then it goes into the 3 lessons .. then you have 5 cats you can color on your own ..Book is only 46 pages of which some of junkI'm not happy but I know a friend who loves cats so I will gift it to her
