Good product, but hairballs aren't normal
Hairballs aren't normal. It's some prevalent misconception that cats throw up hairballs normally, but science says that's not true. In fact the study that was done on cats that threw up hairballs more than once every couple of months showed that most cats had either IBD or small cell lymphoma. So if your cat is throwing up a lot of hairballs, change your cat to bio appropriate food (raw ideally), and get an ultrasound. With all of that said, I like this product and it's ingredients. Healthy cats move hair through their digestive systems and out their stool, but cats with motility issues will throw up. I don't know that this product cures hairball issues, but things like slippery elm and marshmallow root are good for inflammation and the GI tract.

My cat was throwing up daily!
My cat was getting chronic hairballs. She suddenly began vomiting pretty much on a daily basis. 12 year old female that was eating food and acting fine. No changes in her litter habits. She didn’t act sick. We took her to the vet and all her bloodwork was good. She had several tests done and they all showed nothing was wrong. She was losing weight and hungry all the time. We were certain it was hyperthyroidism, but thyroid blood work was completely normal. We also had the Vitamin A bloodwork done and it was good. She would wake us up throwing up every morning around 4am. I also noticed that she was getting more hairballs. Throwing up hairballs on a weekly or even monthly basis for a short hair cat is not normal and I just thought maybe it was because she was getting older. Come to find out, the vet and I think the vomiting and frequent hairballs was related to IBD. We opted to not do the biopsy/ exploratory surgery of intestinal tract to confirm IBD. It is the only way they can confirm it and I didn’t want to put her through such a tough surgery. My vet was willing to treat her as if she had IBD and put her on prednisolone daily for a month and see if it helped. It has been AMAZING!!!!! She hasn’t thrown up once and is gaining weight!!!! Almost 2 pounds in a month. We have started to reduce her dose and will continue to wean her down to the lowest amount to sustain her IBD. We still also do these hairball drops and we haven’t had hairballs since we started. I like them so much better than the sticky lubricant. I just mix it in with her wet food. I wanted to share my information to anyone who is desperate for answers on why their cat might be throwing up. I know that I had researched on the internet so much and couldn’t find answers. I didn’t see much about IBD initially, I kept seeing Vitamin A deficiency and hyperthyroidism. The vet thought that it was the dry food and she had developed a sensitivity and needed to go on wet food, but she was still vomiting on the wet food. Now we are able to give her a combo of wet and dry food and she hasn’t thrown up. Just happy to see so much improvement in 1 month!

Made my cats sick
I recently tried Hairball Relief drops for my cats, hoping it would help manage their hairball issues. Unfortunately, the experience was quite the opposite. Within a day of administering the drops, all of my cats began showing signs of distress. They became lethargic and started vomiting hairballs, a reaction that occurred almost immediately after taking the medicine. Key Issues: - **Immediate Adverse Reactions**: All of my cats threw up hairballs within hours of taking the drops, which is the opposite of the intended effect. - **Gastrointestinal Distress**: In addition to hairballs, my cats exhibited signs of stomach upset, including lethargy and discomfort. - **Ineffectiveness**: Instead of preventing hairballs, the product seemed to exacerbate the problem, causing more frequent and severe episodes. Given the negative reactions and lack of effectiveness, I cannot recommend this Hairball Relief Drops. It not only failed to address the hairball issue but also made my cats visibly sick. I would advise looking for alternative remedies that are proven to be both safe and effective.

My kitty likes it and seemed to help
My cat has ibd and has frequent hairballs. He loved the flavor of this and it does appear to assist with his hairball issues! The only drawbacks are the high price, and the fact that they don’t recommend daily use. He could def. Use something like this daily

Seller backs his product
I am adding an amendment to the previous feedback below. This did not work for our cat but does not say it won't work on yours. The company refunded my money after hearing the product did not work on our cat. It is rare to find a company these days that will stand behind their product and refund your money even after 30 days. Got to give credit where credit is due. Our cat has had problems getting the hairballs coughed up so I figured I'd try this. We gave it to him daily for 5 weeks with only 2 hairballs being coughed up during that time. Both of which were also full of bile. This is very expensive for it not to have helped the cat at all. Save your money and get something the Vet prescribes. We had to take him back to the vet because the medication we bought here did nothing.

FINALLY!
A solution to our 4 cats barfing hairball logs. Actually just 2 are the culprits because they not only groom themselves, they groom the others too. Some days it was constant, pile here, pile there...watch where you step! Especially after they eat and can't get the food past the blockage, then you have a pool of stomach food with the log to clean up. Have tried everything, vets, home remedies and this absolutely works! The 2 culprits get a dose on a regular basis (so far once every 2 weeks), the other 2 get it if we notice a hairball cough here or there and give it just for maintenance. I waited on the review to give an honest assessment and happy to report I will purchase again for the lifetime that I have children with 4 paws!

Fantastic product. My long-haired girl was throwing up fur balls every single day this past summer. I tried two different types of hairball gels and nothing worked. I also really didn't like the ingredients in any of those products but I was desperate to find something to help her. I found this very natural tincture and since beginning it, she hasn't thrown up a furball in over a month. I am very impressed. I am continuing to give her the required amount twice a day although the instructions say I can lower it to just a couple times a week. I might do that in winter when she isn't shedding as actively. Highly recommend.

I've been using the Hairball Gold for 1 month now and I think it's helping. Hard to tell. My cats won't take it on their own accord so I have to hold them to drop it into their mouth but they're not too bothered by the taste. No foaming or drooling at the mouth over the taste. The biggest down side is the bottle. It's always left standing upright and cleaned after every use, yet, it's constantly got product on the outside. I have no idea how so much product gets on the outside. It makes it very slippery and it gets everywhere.

Pet Wellbeing have a dedicated following in the US but maybe their herbal supplements aren't as well-known here in the UK. I've been using two other products of theirs alongside (Comfort Gold and Agile Joints) and they're doing our senior girl the world of good. She is a long hair, prone to mats and "dandruff" at times, which suggests she needs a little TLC for her skin (not to mention she sometimes gets hairballs wearing a big fur coat!). Hairball Gold is also helpful to support elimination of furballs via the digestive tract - is petroleum and mineral oil-free, with human grade ingredients, formulated by veterinarians. Its ingredients are MCT Oil, Slippery Elm Bark, Triphala Blend and Aloe Vera. The dropper has clear measurements in 0.25ml increments (I give her 0.25ml morning and night - dose is dependent on weight, mixed in with wet food). The formula is clear and - for a cat who is really fussy - she doesn't mind it at all. She eats her food happily. Her skin feels particularly soft and looks shiny - it's helping her skin too, no more dry flakes. She hasn't coughed up a hairball for a while, so I'm hopeful this is helping her eliminate though "the other end" rather than her enduring the stress of vomiting. This is the 118ml bottle of Hairball Gold, so it will last up to 8 months (depending on weight, but our puss is quite slim). I reckon Pet Wellbeing's products are worth it for peace of mind.

I’ve been using this for my cat who struggles with hairballs, and I’ve noticed a definite improvement in how often she brings them up. It seems to help her digestion too, and I like that it’s made with natural, herbal ingredients rather than harsh additives or mineral oils. It’s easy to mix into food or give directly, though the taste can make some cats a bit fussy at first. The bottle lasts a while, and I feel better knowing it’s a holistic, vet-formulated option. Overall, a good (if expensive) natural supplement for reducing hairballs and keeping cats’ tummies comfortable.
