This valve unit comes with teflon tape, but it requires a rubber shower head Washer (shown in picture) to form a tight seal. I bought these at a home improvement store, but NOTE: these are not found in the plumbing parts isle, they are in the isle where they sell shower heads.All shower heads come with a washer already installed in the female threaded end, right out of the box, but when attaching this valve you must insert a washer into the female end of this valve AND wrap your threads with teflon tape.I hand tightened it in place and tested it, with the valve fully closed and it didn't leak a drop!

Compact design, using it in our shower so the water can be shut off easily as not to waste water while soaping up.

This valve is perfect for what I needed for. But it doesn't shut the water flow 100%. It leaks very little and that's why I didn't returned it.

I installed this on my showerhead pipe as a work-around to stop the drip from an un-fixable leaking hot-water valve. Unfortunately it did not completely shut off the water flow/drip. I would have returned it but the packaging had already been tossed...

This item is easy to turn, and doesn't leak. It feels sturdy, and so far has been exactly what I would expect unlike others I've tried.

I like to use the shower and wanted to just trickle the water when lathering with soap and have a little water every once in a while to make soap lather. This works perfect and I get cleaner faster and better because the shower is usually washing off my soap lather before I start scrubbing and this way the soap has a chance to stay put a little longer while I scrub clean. By just using the little valve I'm not changing water temperatures using the main hot and cold valves & just turn quickly wide open when I want a good rinse, making a superior shower experience IMO. Water savings per shower is about 2-4> gallons savings depending on length of shower a person uses.This little valve should be on all shower heads when you are living through droughts and water scarcity, every little bit helps when millions of people want a shower each day in drought stricken areas of the world.

Using it for a shower head shut off... it looks good and does the job it is supposed to do. What else can one say about something like this...

Looks good.I used Teflon tape and a new washer for the installation but the valve still leaked. I needed a shut-off! Unfortunately, it will be returned.
