Matthew really captures the intrinsically seductive nature of carnivorous plants. There’s a raw beauty to their nature, which this book is laser focused on. This is a hard book to put down once you pick it up. Buy two.

Gorgeous. A work of art. My 8 year old grandson loves it. He took so many notes about carnivorous plants from facts he learned in the book.

What a fantastic book! The prints are rich and artistic as well as being technically proficient in the world of macro photography. And Matthew's knowledge and love for the carnivorous plants in this book really brought the prints and pages to life for me.I own several books that showcase macro photography, and this one is by far the best because of the quality of the photographs and the artistic ways the plants are presented. What a find (and what a great deal on Amazon).

As an afficionado of both carnivorous plants and books, I must say that I enjoyed this book. The one caveat is that one must enjoy it for what it is-a coffee table book. The photography is exquisite. There are certainly some beautiful specimens that are very artistically portrayed. Reading the description, however, one may expect it to be a reference work with botanical information and information about cultivation. If that is the expectation, prepare for disappointment. The text is minimal and by no means authoritative. There are numerous other books that achieve that purpose. This volume is reasonably priced, very enjoyable to look at and a nice conversation piece for whether you be a plant enthusiast or not.

I jot this book as a gift for a good friend who is interested in these plants. I was glad it wasn't wrapped in plastic so I could look through the book.Each page was extraordinarily beautiful, even though they were of plants behaving badly.

It does not get to the root of the matter, how to raise and care for these carnivorous plant's. Just a lot of beautiful pictures.

Beautiful carnivorous plant portraits! There are lots of carnivorous plant books out there, but nothing like this one! A must have for a CP lover!

There is basically no information in this book. Only macro photographies of limited species. I’m disappointed
