Whirley Pop 26107NAMZ 26107-AMZ-NylonGears Barn Red with Nylon Gears

This is my third Whirley-Pop in the last 25 years or so. The last two have better vent openings than did the first one. I gave the first one away and have used the second one for many years, and since it has gotten a little cruddy, decided to order a new one. If used correctly, you won't be disappointed. I use it on a gas stove with a little over one half cup of gourmet popcorn and one tablespoon of oil. The amount of flame is very important; I keep it about halfway between medium and low, turning the crank very slowly. You will know when the popping is finished when the crank becomes difficult to turn. Do not force it. I then add salt and melted margarine and put the popped corn into a large stainless steel pot, then into a 265 degree oven for about 30 minutes. The oven step isn't really necessary, but just adds to the crispness of the popcorn. For me nearly every kernel pops and the finished popcorn is delicious. I have tried many different poppers and methods of popping through the years and the Whirley-Pop is the best I've ever used, hands down.

This is my 2nd one I've owned. Lost my other one in a move and had to get another one. It makes the best popcorn.

Lightweight, easy to clean.

Bought it as a present for someone who wanted an electric air popper. They were very hesitant and concerned about the effort that may be involved in a manual popper but once they tried it they were hooked! It’s now 6 months old and looks as good as new. Still making awesome popcorn!
