Light hearted and fun
Light hearted and fun, this book is everything you'd expect from a Julia Quinn book, it visits some of the characters that we already know from other novels. It has all the elements Fun, love and light hearted drama but presented in a way, as indeed all of her books are that the reader can just relax and enjoy it.For non Julia readers, all of her novels can be read as stand alones as they have complete stories within them, but as you start to read the rest of her books characters start to develope and have more deepth because we are already familiar with the characters. Love Julia's books. If you like Julia's works you'll also like Eloisa James.

Frustratingly good
The second in the series, Agents of the Crown, this was fantastic! I love how the entire story their identities were secrets and it kept me so on edge thinking “Ugh please reveal yourselves you’re made for each other!” The characters developments were fantastic, the marquis becoming so modest and humble (he always was but even more so). I really felt for the MFC, her story was so sad but she powered through, becoming a very strong willed determined character and she really was the heroine of the story.

Charming, romantic and witty read.
I've been looking forward to James' story after falling in love with his character in 'To Catch A Heiress'. I love him and Elizabeth, they are probably her most romantic couple to date. The declarations between the two of them at the end are extremely romantic. I enjoyed the plot as well and it was nice to see Blake and Caroline again from the aforementioned "TCAH" And, having read the Bridgerton's, I already knew and loved Lady Danbury. Nice to see Dunford from "Minx" as well making a cameo appearance. On reading this again though, one thing occurred. Surely in the 5 years that Elizabeth worked for Lady Danbury, James would have visited his aunt. How did he avoid meeting her?

A fun read.
A Lady Danbury special. As ever a lighthearted romance between two worthy adversaries with Lady D and her cat Malcolm key players.

Possibly my favourite
I’ve read all the Brigerton books and think this is my favourite Julia Quinn book. It’s probably because it has Lady Danbury in it. The romance is repetitive but I agree with her that it’s hard to continue to write about a couple once you’ve given them a happy ever after so I forgive the repetition and enjoy seeing characters I know as support to the next romance. I did find some bits funny and my only wish is a series where Lady Danbury is the main character and not seeking romance! The cat was a welcome addition and I’m not generally fussed on cats!

A favourite character of mine, Lady Danbury, is one of the stars of this story ...
This is another well-written, light-hearted novel from Julia Quinn. It is an easy and amusing read, although the plot is not deep or complex. But, there again, that is not necessary in a Regency Romance.A favourite character of mine, Lady Danbury, is one of the stars of this story. She has called in her nephew, James Sidwell, Marquess of Riverdale, to look into possible case of blackmail. But he is to come incognito as her new farm steward. One of the first of his suspects is Miss Lizzie Hotchkiss, Lady Danbury's companion, as she has plenty of opportunity and also the motive, since she is struggling to keep herself and her three younger siblings on her companion's pay.I won't go into any further details - read it and find out! But I thoroughly enjoyed it, and the book will go into my growing 'library' of Ms Quinn's novels, which I browse back into from time to time.

Brilliant. Love that the ending isn’t what you anticipate at about 3/4ths of the way through. Julia Quinn is truly a phenomenal writer/author. Truly enjoyed this book as I have all the others.I really should have read book 1 in the series first but wasn’t able to obtain it straight away. SO started with book number 2.

Hilarious at times, loved it! Becomes a tad serious towards the end but the humour never fades. I would highly recommend this
