Starship Troopers: Invasion [Blu-ray]

In their first all CGI cinematic outing this film starts to mirror the Movie Universe with the Book.Meaning, specialized units/mechs that you never saw in the films. I will warn you... the CGI is on par with Late PS2/Early PS3 graphics... while serviceable, it's noticeable. Thankfully, the story/plot and characters are all entertaining enough to hold your attention.Story is this: Rescue mission goes sideways, events take place where it's unclear what's happening. Bugs everywhere..... There is a logical reason everything happens the way it did and I don't want to ruin the experience if you haven't seen it before.Should you own it? Yes Citizen.

The 4th installment in the series of starship Troopers movies. The animation is awesome lots of action that won't disappoint you. I highly recommend it.

It was a good movie, enough believable action. It is too bad that it isn't with humans instead of "drawn" computer generated.

I thought going in this would be an ok movie. It is animated so how good could it be right? Just wow, This ended up being the best of the entire collection. This movie is really intended for those of us that read the novel and are Heinlein fans. Though there are a lot of fun references to the previous movies. One of the problems of doing this book live action is that the technology really does not currently exist. In animation you can achieve anything and they do.Ok onto what you really want to know.One disc which contains the movie, previews and special features.I will say I enjoyed the previews too. Some really good movies coming out.The Special features are over the top good!Filmmaker Commentary;Deleted Scenes; and they both really should have been deleted.Gag Real; This was just fantastic. I was unsure if some of these were real gags or the setup gags like you see in Pixar stuff. It was all vocal and nothing changed in the scenes so these might really have been mistakes the Director shared with us.The Making of Starship Troopers: Invasion; This includes 11 different little documentaries about the movie. They were quite well done. They include~Genesis ~Archive ~Character Design ~Motion Capture ~Powersuits ~Bugs ~Ships ~Animation ~Backgrounds ~Composting ~Music.Again I found this to be quality entertainment for the cash I parted with.

Great anime of a great movie franchise

When do I "Press Play to Begin"? In 2001 "Final Fantasy: The Sprits Within" hailed a new era in film making. The CGI world took a giant leap towards the vitual realism we were all expecting to see from "the latest advancement" in technology. We knew that after that, anything was possible. And WETA! Serkis' Gollum came alive and we all pitied Sméagol because he was so human, or halfling-ish. Roughnecks: The Starship Troopers Chronicles took that mo-cap edge and brought to the little screen what we just knew could be, one day, brought to fruition on the Big Screen. And I waited 12 years for This?So the movie opens with an almost direct quote from the Heinlein classic. Almost false advertising. The remainder of the script was more like "Starbucks Troopers: The Napkin Chronicles". I am a diehard fan of Heinlein's original, Paul Verhoeven's Fascist Indictment treatment, and yes, the Audu Paden and company's Roughnecks. I have bought-in to the franchise and drank my fill of the Kool-Aid. In other words, I HAD to see this. Did I HAVE to buy it too? They were all out of Catcher in the Rye...I give this 3 Stars because it is a worthy effort. It did move the ST Universe story-line along. (Though the Roughnecks already fought one Earth invasion.) It was a nice nod to both the live action and previous CGI versions. And, as bad as most of the dialogue was, it wasn't much worse than "Marauder". Is that a plus? The new team of Troopers carried the weight of their gear as well as could be expected. Good thing the plot was so light. Could you call this a classic too? No, but I read one.

Everything went great: got my dvd in good condition and delivery was on time.

La versión italiana de Starship Troopers Invasión viene con audio en castellano al igual que el menú del disco, que también viene en castellano. Película muy recomendada para todos a los que les guste la animación o la ciencia ficción.

Excelente versión animada de la serie de STARSHIP TROOPERS, si eres fan de estas películas, seguro que disfrutaras esta película.

Bon qu'on se le dise ce n'est pas un film pour le fan de film d'auteur, c'est du "PAN PAN BOUM BOUM".Mais ça reste un film d'animation et d'action vraiment réussi dans son ensemble. L'intrigue, les personnages, les scènes d'actions, le musique, etc...tout est fait avec brio et forme une alchimie dense et intense. Le ton reste proche du film de Paul Verhoeven : "il y a des bestioles de l'espace qui veulent nous tuer, allons les tuer d'abord !"Moins critique sur certains points que son homologue live, ce film reste un bon divertissement pour une soirée autour d'une bonne pizza avec des amateurs du genre.

i can say this is far better than anyone thinks its is, it takes the best parts for the book, the animated series (which isn't talked about enough) and the films.The only thing i wish is that this was the ending for the series that it was based around the roughnecks chronicles because that ending was never made. However this film is as close at the moment as we are ever going to get. I wish we had the roughneck characters dizzy, haggins, doc, gossard, baby max bruto, tphai. with General Redwing and Sergeant Zimm in this movie. it should of had them. The fact they don't even mention the word roughnecks is a bit of an insult. Camren does mention the team she was once a part of was a good team which is suppose is a nodd to the roughnecks but still not good enough i wish the series was recognised more cos films were ok but did get it very wrong compared to the book.Rico and Carmen in this are slightly different to what you are use to but Carl Jenkins is a completely different character i feel his character in this was a bit of an insult to the way he's been portrayed before now.Despite my peeves and wishes about this film it is very goodthe queen bug (which has only been seen in the series not to be confused with the brain bug seen in the series and first/third film) is captured, made the primary antagonist of the film and is killed which gives us roughnecks fans some recognition.But yes VERY GOOD BUY THIS !!!!!!! KEEP THE LEGACY GOING!!!!!!!!!!
