5x 7x 9x 20x Bausch & Lomb Eye Glass Loupes

Several years ago I bought a two lens magnifer through Maxi Aids with 3X, 4X and 7X magnification, and I have been very happy with this magnifier. Unfortunately like a lot things it is wering out. This new three lens model may be fine for a jeweler who already has good vision, but it is the pits for me. There is simply too little focal area to be useful Figuring I must have failed to read the fine print. I went back to Maxi Aids where I bought my first magnifier and ordered their two lens model 4X, 9X and 12X (201K0105). Again to my disappointment the pocket magnifier was the same size as the one I purchased through Amazon. Next I visited Bauch and Lomb's website, I could not find a two lens model like I bought several years ago all of the model today are like the ones I bought at Amazon and Mazie Aids. Next I contacted customer service and received an email from Barb Biodoski at Customer Affairs.Unfortunately the only help I received was where to buy more pogket magnifier like the ones I already bought and was unhappy with. If you are a professional with good eye the pocket magnifiers are fine, but if you suffer from macular degeneration like me I recommend you keep looking for another source Baucch and Lomb don't seem to be concerned with customer satisfaction.

I purchased this item about 20 years ago and got great service from it. I carried it in my pocket nearly daily to read small printing on components and wiring. Other people would use it and were always impressed with it. I dropped it many times with no damage. Unfortunately, it recently received severe damage (I dropped it, and someone accidentally stepped on it) that broke the plastic holder. Remarkably, the lenses did not break and were still usable; but, it would have been difficult to use them loose. The holder was beyond repair, so I began looking for a replacement. I was very glad to find that 20 years later this same model is still being sold. I immediately bought a new one and expect to get another 20+ years service from it. The simple, practical and sturdy design has not changed, and the materials appear to be the same or better than used in the past. Each lens can be used individually or combined with the others to increase magnification.

1. This is classified as a professional magnifier by Bausch and Lomb. However as you go to higher magnification from 5x, the viewing area gets significantly smaller than that of each lens. For example, the effective diameter of the 9x lens is at most a half of the diameter. One can easily confirm by looking at the pixels of the display of any LED TV.2. It is not fun to receive a used one with plenty of traces of use after ordering a NEW one. The seller should know that this can not go unnoticed.

Great set of loops. It would help if they imprinted the magnification level on each loop and showed which side to look through if that was relevant. Would definitely buy from them again.

STAY AWAY – from this product and from this vendor. First the product, when it came it was VERY small and the focal point was tiny and out of focus. Useless to magnify – dirty – and the box had obviously been opened and returned. I do not know who is writing these reviews – but I found this purchase to be worthless. Now to the vendor – (deleted by amazon and moved to vendor feedback) . As a prime member and a frequent buyer (and reviewer) this is the first ZERO star review I would like to give, I have no idea how this product could get LEGIT good reviews - STAY AWAY!

The loupes are too small

It works good but it is a little smaller than I thought it was.
