I use this for Puget Sound Pinks and Bottom fish (Flounders mainly). The action is really sensitive, could feel the flounders nibbling and waited for the swallow before setting. I even accidently hooked on a 7lb Coho previous summer. Ran a few times with the rod bent all the way and the drag smokin', fell out of my flounder net 2 times, but the rod held and flexed with the Coho. Super convenient as it folds down to only 17" and fits anywhere. Hooked on either a Ling or fall Chinook last week, shook it's head for at 2 or 3 minutes before it broke my hook off the line. I was very pleasantly surprised, when I opened the package containing this collapsible spinning rod. I've tried others in the past, but they were either to "this" or too "that", and were, overall, not comfortable to use nor did they appear to be made well enough to support their intended purpose.The Zebco Z-Cast, on the other hand, looks to be well made, has good action, and expands and contracts smoothly, ranging from about 66" extended to a very compact 17" when collapsed. Perfect size for a backpack, or for a SHTF ready to go bag. As shown in the photo, it doesn't require much space at all, and even comes with a locking device to prevent accidental telescoping when collapsed.The true test will come later today, when I take it out for a spin (pun intended), but I'm pretty confident that will perform as well as it looks.I'm adding this edit after my first field test, and I'm now even more impressed. Caught 3 largemouth bass, all about the same size as shown in the photo I've added. Great action, I would say medium light, without any noticeable stiffness at the expansion fittings. Very sensitive too. Overall, I have to say that there is a lot of fun packed into this little rod.

The media could not be loaded. Looks good. Perfect size for my hiking needs. Obviously great price. If the company wanted to make it awesome for the price I think they could cut the reel seat a little deeper. It's kinda wobbly if your gonna be targeting mid size fish. Doesn't fully compress to my reel but it is a child's fishing reel.

Nice and compact! Just what I was looking for!! It is to keep in the trunk for those just in case moments when I need to stop and fish! All the time lol!!

Tip broke off first time i hooked a bream.

OK rod, it is as flimsy as you might expect. Stick to crappie and bluegills with this one.Problem for me was the reel seat is too large and too long for my ultra lite reel (just the reel likely to be used on this rod).Had to tape up the reel attach points to take up the slack, barely works.
