My all-time favorite water bottle
I hope they never stop making these. I am leaving the review in part to convince other people to keep buying them so that they stay in production.I've been through dozens of water bottles over the years. They break, they leak, they get lost, they get dirty...so they're a semi-disposable item. Because of that, I hate to spend too much on them. This one is definitely at the very top end of what I would pay, but I love these bottles so much that it's worth it to me. I have yet to wear one of these out after using them for years, but I have lost a few and I'm always sad about it because of the cost. Still, every time I try to go back to a cheaper water bottle, I come back around and buy another one of these instead. What's so great? It's the total package. Except for the top, they're double-walled steel, not plastic, so they are well-insulated. Your water stays cold longer and they don't sweat. The rubber grip is actually useful, so you don't feel like you're going to drop it. The size is perfect, holds enough water for a day's outings (around town, not a day of hiking) but not so much that it is overly heavy or bulky. The physical dimensions are a bit narrower than many other bottles, so it fits in almost every cupholder and backpack water bottle holder I've tried. It doesn't leak, ever. You can drink from it one-handed, and close it back up easily, which is a major priority to me.And these things are durable! I tried using it in a bike water bottle cage and it flew out when I hit a big bump (side note - it works better with some bottle cages than others, but it's not really meant for that application so this is just a bonus). The bottle was slightly dented but otherwise intact, and I kept right on using it with no issues. I'm on my 4th bottle, and I've never had one break or start to leak before I lost it.There are a couple of minor quibbles, but the totality of the bottle is so good that I overlook them. First, if you like to fill your bottle with ice, the opening will permit smaller cubes like you get from an icemaker but not the big cubes from a freezer tray, and you have to put them in somewhat slowly. But then again, it's insulated so well that you really don't need much, if any, ice. Second, there's no loop or other way to attach a carabiner or carry it with one finger. But that's a small price to pay for a bottle this good.

Ice Water Cold for 24 Hours
I have used these bottles every day for years for ice water, and keep extras in my emergency kit for extra water during power blackouts.I fill as many ice cubes as fit (about 10) then add cold water. screw on the top, and good to go all day and night.I disagree with the review that says it is difficult to add ice, what kind of trays are they using, I use standard ice trays that produce standard size cubes and they fit.Outside and in, the bottle is stainless steel and, aside from having to clean off hard water minerals that accumulate, have stayed like new.The top has a double lock mechanism -- I've carried the bottles on their sides in totes, and they have never leaked when double locked. The only complaint I have is that they are a bit on the expensive side, but then again, I've tried cheaper products and in this case you get what you pay for.

Perfect size for my hands!
Have owned Thermos beverage containers for years, but recently left my favorite, this 18 oz one in black, behind at school concert. Thermos bottles keep water, iced tea, etc cold for hours, even when left in car! This 18 oz size is the perfect fit for my hands, esp since arthritis set in, and the pop-top really works one handed. Love it!

Keeps Water Cold
This is my second of these Thermos bottles. The first is at least 10 years old and still going strong. It is easily usable with one hand in the car. I have left my bottle in the car parked for hours at a time in 100+ degree weather (outside of the car- much hotter in the car) in direct sunlight and still have ice in the water. The metal of the Thermos is too hot to hold, but the rubber grip makes the bottle usable. Dishwasher safe. Recommended

PLASTIC lid. Keeps water cold longer, harder to pick up and carry than all-plastic version
UPDATE: You still end up drinking from PLASTiC, because that's what the cap is made of. I don't care if it's "food grade" plastic, because we've learned only recently (2024) that we end up with microplastics in blood and other bodily fluids and throughout our bodies when we eat or drink from any form of plastic or "poly" anything. Plus, that "poly" means it's made from fossil fuels. We need to STOP this! We can do better.I have multiples of the previous version of this, because it's the most functional water bottle of several designs that I've ever had. But those are hard plastic, and I didn't want to buy plastic anymore and wanted the water to stay cold longer. The ridged blue grip on this metal version makes it much easier to grip it in your hand and less likely to drop. But I miss the ring that helped to grab it with just a couple of fingers and carry it looped over fingers when I had to carry something else in my hand. Also, the little metal ring on this one is a size or weight that's a bit harder to grasp.I recommend it. I just wish it had that larger ring to make it easier to pick up and carry. The plastic carry ring on the plastic version is thick, and it would need to be a thick ring, not a thin metal one, to be easy to catch hold of quickly with just fingers. I hope they'll add those features in the next iteration.

Keeps water COLD
I bought my first Thermos Hydration Bottle after a trip to the scorching SW with our grandson, who had one. My water turned warm but his did not -- it was still cold after hours of sitting in the car. For the last 10 years I have used nothing but this brand and type. I have broken the cap on a couple, and it was more economical to replace the unit that replacing just the cap. I got one for my husband, and he also appreciates its efficiency. Great product.
