Fragmentation and Repair: for Mixed-Media and Textile Artists

It has a beautiful, material bound cover, A lovely introduction to its content.
This book is wonderful. I’m not a textile artist, I work using Collage papers, but each page has such beautiful images of work I would aspire to . It is written in such an inspiring manner, sharing her skills, work processes and her obvious passion for her work.

Beautiful Book...but
I love Shelly Rhodes' work, and have her other book, so was pleased to see this one. There is no doubt that the work is stunning, and the book is packed with information and beautiful illustrations. The one thing that drives me absolutely demented is the grey font, and even more so the faintness of most of the illustrations - which are small anyway, and this faintness makes them terribly frustrating and difficult to look at in any detail. I understand that this is an 'arty' fad. either on the publisher's or the designer's part, but please think of your customers. Illustrations don't have to be crude and brightly coloured to be effective - Shelley's work is beautiful and almost other worldly in its delicate appearance - please don't deny us the pleasure of looking at it and being inspired just because you want to be seen as 'trendy'. It's just irritating and infuriating to those of us who love this artist's work.
