The straws are made of very high quality steel. They are very sturdy and easy to take apart and clean. The problem comes when trying to put them back together. It's hard to get it to fit, I even cut myself a few times.I purchased a different set before not realizing it was from the same vendor. The other set, I returned, was longer but it gave me the same problems.Also, the way they are put together makes it hard to drink from once you get to the end of the straw/beginning of the filter area since they don't deal properly

This is a great bombilla. The one I had been using for years was the kind with the screw-on filter at the bottom. It lasted for well over 10 years before the screw threads corroded. This one is an excellent bombilla - it goes together easily, works well, and is the right length for comfortable drinking. The bit about "non-plastic" packaging is just a fancy way of saying it comes in cardboard - almost as if it was no "official" packaging at all!I love that it comes with a straw cleaner, although I have found that my bombilla rarely (if ever) needs to be cleaned with anything more than running some water through it.

Doesnt filter that well when your Mate is fine.

Good value! Some assembly required (poking the straw into the filter) but no big deal.

I cannot get the 2 pieces to fit together. I'll try plyers next. Hope that helps.

Filters don't fit on the straws (the opening is too small) so these are useless.

I love tea, my favorite is hibiscus tea, I can swim in it I love it so much, so I use these every day I can drink my loose tea, hot or cold and not worry about the leaves. I like that these come apart easily to clean, yet stay together while you are enjoying your tea. My husband drinks Yerba mate and enjoys these straws too, we can get the most out of our tea. I like that it comes with a long cleaning brush to get through the entire straw, these are well made and look like they will last awhile. Even using them everyday. I was lucky enough to get this at a discount in exchange for my honest opinion.
