I have purchased this product twice from the same company and have used the swabs for the past year, with no adverse effects. I learned of the efficacy of this type of product from a YouTube video posted by an American surgeon with reputable credentials. These swabs are routinely used in the medical profession, including in the nasal passages. However, the down side is that on both occasions the product arrived with no packaging except the round clear plastic container holding the swabs, that is, to say there was no outer packaging as shown in the photos on the Amazon product page and the plastic containers contained no indication whatsoever about the name of the company that produced it (or maybe the Chinese characters on the thin strip are the name of the company?), nor was there an expiration date, nor a description of the product, especially the specific solution of the povidone iodine contained in the swabs. (But I see that the company now has posted that info on the Amazon product page.) Occasionally Ihave had to throw away a swab because I could not snap the tip off to release the iodine solution but that has not been a common occurrence. If there were a similarly affordable and locally produced alternative, I would switch, but in these covid times, I have decided to settle for these for want of something better. Bottom line again: I have used them for a year with no ill effects to my nose (but I use them only when absolutely necessary for extra protection against covid in crowded indoor conditions).

I've tested it at home and it works just as described, next time I'm going camping I'm taking some swabs with me
