The first 90+ pages are puzzles with hints. As an experienced Trigon fan, I'd have cut the number with hints down by half. There's a new variation where some of the sums are left blank so you have to figure them out. It is a good one. What a treasure trove for us Trigon fans. Thanks Djape! Review: I really love this book because I bought it again after completing the previous one. The puzzles can be challenging. I wish there were more books of these puzzles.

I love Djape’s puzzle books - they’re suitably difficult and challenging to keep me busy for some time, and they’re usually printed on good quality paper (important if you need to erase and start over). However, this is a particularly big book, and also somewhat heavy, which makes it awkward to hold when doing the puzzles, and fairly painful for my hands and wrists after a while. My preference is usually to fold the puzzle book back on itself, so that I can hold it with one hand while working on it with the other, but with the size of this one that doesn’t really work. And also the puzzles are printed too close to the spine, so you also end up with part of the grid curled away from you. A different binding - lay flat, or spiral bound - would be more convenient and comfortable on a volume of this size. Also, quite a large section is given up to the solutions, which seems unnecessary - why not remove them entirely, and make them available online instead? The puzzles are great though, and I can’t get enough of Trigons at the moment.

Do not confuse these with Tridoku! These are not plain elimination or what's missing tests. After filling the easy triangles in the puzzle I worked today I found one, it's always one, that let me move forward: a triangle sum that just could not include a 5 based on the 1 that would force into a neighboring triangle on the side that triangle shared with a sum that had no 1 option left. That meant that there was only one triangle left to put a 5 in with that first triangle's sum. Cool. Okay. A happy puzzle geek.

These puzzles are great, but the book itself is difficult to handle and work with. A different type of spine might make it easier to hold onto. Near the front of the book, I can only work with puzzles on the right-hand side; near the back of the book, I can only work with puzzles on the left-hand side. Otherwise, it's too difficult to hold onto and work with. But the puzzles themselves are fantastic and quite challenging. I had previously purchased Trigons 1 and Trigons 2 (Collectors Series, Dell Puzzle Magazines), and kept waiting for Trigons 3. There never was a Trigons 3, so I went elsewhere looking for Trigons, and I found them here in The Big Book of Trigons.
