If you think you could drill a 11" hole.......
You'd be wrong. 9.5" is all you can get unless you have an extendtion of some sort.I needed to get at least 11" deep and I can't do it with this. All that being said, it makes a marvelous 9" hole. They need to make this abundantly clear in their description. My rating is based on it's 9" capability. Actually, I am upset this did not meet my needs.I'm going to search for an extender and if I can't find one, I may return this.I searched the listing more and way down it did say maximum hole depth of 10" but it should be more prominent up top

Not a 3/8" hex shank
The hex head of the drill bit something less than 11/32". So it's fine to use with an adjustable chuck of a drill. My use case for this auger bit is to drill holes in a tree stump for removal. It's been too hard on a corded hammer drill which has been overheating and smoking. Instead I would like to try the auger bit with a 1/2" impact wrench but this bit won't properly fit any standard hex adapter.

Excellent drill bit
I needed a heavy duty drill bit for killing holly tree stumps. All of my smaller bits never even penetrated the surface. This bit did the job, but it took a lot of working the bit in. Holly stumps are no joke! Very satisfied with the purchase.

The threaded pilot tip is a problem when using in a drill press
This drill bit's design bores a nice hole in pressure-treated wood. Its length enables deep holes.BEWARE: Its threaded pilot tip creates a problem when using this bit in a drill press because it strongly draws the bit into the workpiece. This works in opposition to the manual drill press feed when you want to withdraw the bit.

Very good bit
I was tired of ruining spade bits. This bit is so much better. I bought it to perforate a stump for removal. works great and shows no sign of dulling yet.

My Ryobi 18v cordless drill couldn’t handle this.
This seems like a quality tool. Additionally, the storage tube is fantastic. You will likely need a powerful drill to get it through wood. I tried using my 18v rechargeable drill to make holes in stumps. My drill couldn’t handle it and simply stopped a fraction of an inch in. I’m going to try again with a corded drill and I’m hopeful it will work. Even if it doesn’t, it is not the drills fault.
