A brilliant read
I have now read all nine books in this series from the first to the last and I enjoyed every moment of it. I couldn't put the books down, especially in the fighting parts. It has gripped me throughout each one and is cleverly written building the story through each book. I highly recommend these books if like me you enjoy science fantasy.

Good read, enjoyable
Enjoyed reading, not a very long read, waiting on the next one, hoping it will be a bit longer, unless I just read too quickly

Writting is casual, characters 2D and dialogue thin
Not the worst but none of the deep structure, 3d characters, credible plot, crystal clarity or obvious intelligence of Modesitt, Weber or Bujold. The world building is just OK.I have to say I was surprised and disappointed at how poor this, as so many other amazon, 5* reviews turned out to be.PASS

interesting new series
Worth reading as is any new series, just to see if it lives up to expectations or fails after the first few chapters, this one gets better with time.

A decent 4
A good 4* but another author that thinks we "all" need a million characters to follow! I think initially most readers would think Ty is the MC, after all the story starts with him but by the end I've no idea if there is a single MC & still no idea why he is so "important"? Another minor gripe is the latest tendency to have naive characters just for a vehicle for the "plot" twist, case in point is the Ayrion story arc....blind pew could see what was coming! I've already started Book 2, mainly because Book1 abruptly finished, so I'll have to see if I will continue in the series after the next one.

Grew on me
I found the narration excessive and a little cheesy, putting me in mind of long summer evenings listening to my grandmother tell rambling tales of her youth after a few too many glasses of great uncle Alfred's geranium wine <-- an example of the type of thing I'm talking about. However, by the end I was looking forward to the sequel, hence the positive review.Nothing wildly original so far, but the action scenes are quite well written, being fast paced but easy enough to follow.I bought this book as an impulse purchase, and in the end I didn't regret it.

A Very good read you can sink your teeth into...
The title caught my eye because of Robert Jordan's 'Wheel of Time' White Tower. There are some similar aspects . So I bought the first book then notices 2 more titles and bought those as well.I give any new authors 50-100 pages to catch my attention or back on the shelf at goes. I was hooked after the first 2 chapters. It's also a good size book 647 pgs....love me a big book, the more pgs the better. Also has a glossary of characters with how to pronounce names and such.Drawback for me is the maps, they are small dark and cramped. You can find them on his website where they look perfect but don't print out the same. I like a good clear map I can follow along with.So finished 'White Tower' hungry for more, grabbed the next two books ready to dig into them, and noticed that they were both much smaller than 'White Tower'. I thought they were the next books of The Aldoran Chronicles. But looking closer they were books 1 and 2 of 'The Street Rats of Aramoor series. Different series BUT....Same characters....20 YEARS earlier!!! Smaller books 375 and 301 respectively. So I had just finished them when like a gift from the heavens arrived on my doorstep....BOOK 2 of the Aldoran Chronicles!! Makes you believe in Santa Claus....I have just finished it and await the next installment of either series.IMHO.... Michael Wisehart is an author worth investing your time in. Think of him as Robert Jordan, Terry Goodkind & Kristen Britain's.....younger brother. Just starting his career!! I hope it's a long and successful one with many more books to come.Again... books well worth buying.

5 Stars earned
THE WHITE TOWER is your first installment of a fantasy epic in the classic sense. Straight-forward, memorable characters, and headlong action that flows seamlessly with just enough plot twists that definitely kept my interest. There are enough surprises and inventive sequences to whet my impatient interest for the next volume.Quite impressed by the world Mr. Wisehart has created. The politics, culture, magic system, and background are well constructed and cohesive - well done.Supported by a bevy of solid characters, the world of Aldor feels natural and well-developed. Too many writers take these aspects for granted, and DO NOT take the time to develop the background and history - this is what separates the good writers from the wannabees. Mr. Wisehart has thoughtfully done his homework and given us a rich tapestry on which to enjoy the march of personalities you quickly get invested in.I’ll be upfront here - I was privileged to read the first beta version of this. The basic style then was solid. The rewrite took EVERYTHING to the next level. One of the questions he asked beta readers was - ‘Use 3 words to describe your impression’.My answer at the time? ‘Intriguing - character-driven - inventive’.Nothing’s changed for me - except the excitement of seeing the maturation of the finished product! My favorite character - Ferrin - has a wicked edge in his magical abilities. He has the potential to become an exceptional major character. Not just in The White Tower series - as a memorable character in the world of Classic Fantasy lore. Recently, Mr. Wisehart finished a ‘prequel’ story describing the events that landed Ferrin in the Tower where we find him in the novel. This story exposes one of Mr. Wisehart’s best talents - character development. I’m pumped. Mr. Wisehart had a few rough spots in the beta edition of The White Tower, but he smoothed those out exceptionally - the proof in the pudding that reveals the maturity in an author is when you get the beta for a follow up story/sequel - and find yourself at the end of it... with nothing to say except "Please, sir, may I have some more?" No edits required. THAT, my friends, is why the 5 Stars for this offering. This also gives me EXACTLY what I’d been waiting to hear - that the author is committed to the series and the characters in it. I'm a series junkie, and have no qualms admitting it in public. The White Tower delivers. As for the first installment here, the ending is a quintessential cliff hanger. Nicely timed and leaving us all wanting more. Don’t ever consider slowing down, Michael - you’ve got a winner here! For those of you who’ve been sitting the fence - hesitating to jump in - don’t let this one pass you by. Get in on the ground floor. Satisfaction isn’t easy to find. You’ll find it here.

A good page turner
Quite a few clichés in this book, but saved by the quality of the writing. I get the feeling that the story is well planned, looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
