Why build one into a 12 volt unit an external devive that can easily be powered by the unit
I had been looking at battery packs and solar generators for about a year, carefully weighing the capacities, pro’s and con’s of the available products. When my wife asked me what I wanted for Christmas, decision time arrived. Decisions, decisions.I wanted something I could carry, I wanted something that could charge our cell phones and tablets for a week or two, and something that could be replenished by the sun, my car, and from the grid when it was working. I wanted a power source that could power an LED light source after sunset for a few weeks without needing a recharge. I also wanted a batterry back-up for my amateur radio. Also, I wanted to understand and monitor the energy flowing through the generator/storage device in real time. The Kalisaya does not have an DC to AC inverter built into the pack. Kudo’s. Why build one into a 12 volt unit an external devive that can easily be powered by the unit? It would be like building a TV or radio into the unit. Without an inverter, the Kalipac 601 needs no fan, it weighs less, and it is a smaller package. (I already had a 12 volt inverter any way - cost me 30 bucks). The Kalipac 601 weighs 14 pounds. I can carry it. We could charge our phones and tablets for a month or two and indefinitely with the solar panels that come with it. It will keep an LED light lighting as long as we need it. Should we need a 12 volt fan or refrigerator, it can handle it.The Kalipac is a small, elegant unit that distills elegance, substance, efficiency, and function into a beautiful package. It really is beautiful!

Perfect device , one small detail..
Everything works as expected, very solid and well built device, zippers run great. BT connect with KaliApp also works seamlessly, all output connects work fine USB and 12vDC, solarpanel charges well over my expectation at dimm sunlight. Not that it would be important, but the wall-charger gets very, very hot when plugged at 230V (Europe) I would not want to charge overnight without paying attention. this is the star less, a more solid charger would have not harmed. Everything else - Just perfect.

It does not work at all. I was so excited about it because of the good reviews. I waited for weeks from when I purchased to finally give mine because I kept thinking I was the one doing something wrong but at this point, I want to alert people that this item does not work and it cannot be returned so do not buy it.

Cancelled My Order ;(
I returned this without ever receiving it because I was suprised to discover that it does not have a AC plug so it would not work for my needs. I found something just as good for $339 on ebay. However, this came with solar panels to recharge it but almost $300 more for solar panels...that did not make financial sense to me so I cancelled my order.

Excellent Lightweight, High-Capacity Battery Pack with a Well-Designed Approach
I have had the KP601 for approximately 90 days and I absolutely love it! I am stunned by the quality and forethought that went into this device. I own numerous large capacity packs from Duracell, DieHard, Goal Zero and Enerplex, but the Kalisaya is bar far the best on that I have owned.Pros:Light-weight, portable, durableTONS of power (500+ 'realistic' WHrs)Retains charge (minimal dissipation)Nice controlsPlenty of portsSelf-containedAesthetically pleasing; Excellent designBluetooth interface for additional insightGreat manual/instructionsWeatherproof 'backpack'Cons:An included car charger would have been niceSlightly more interior space to accommodate additional accessoriesFor such a new company, I was very surprised by the quality, design, and durability of the 601. Kalisaya is certainly committed to backing the customer, they originally included a rather nice shoulder strap, but later let us know that some customers experienced an issue with it... they subsequently sent out out a brand new heavy duty strap to all customers. I love this Company!!!

KaliPak keeps you powered up in all the right places.
Purchased KaliPak on Kickstarter and received it in the early summer. My daughter plays on a travel softball team and we traveled extensively over the summer. Multiple uses for our KaliPak, including running several 12V fans in the dugout during the 95 degree days during the games. Kept our 12V cooler well cooled . . . all while being charged with solar power. We never had to recharge the battery by AC (although that is an option). Kept our cell phones, ipods and ipads charged. Multiple uses for our KaliPak!I am expecting I may be using our KaliPak this winter during a likely power outage with a New England snow storm as we can at the very least have lighting with the available flood light and light bulb attachment!
