Haikyu!!, Vol. 1 (1)

HINATAAAAAAAAA!!! 😭😭😭😭😭I forgot how truly inspiring his character is! Granted, I call him my real life senpai as he inspires me everyday, but reading from the beginning of the manga and then seeing how incredible he is makes me so moved. What a fantastic character he is and will never not be a Hinata fangirl!I totally blown away by the detail in all the art! I don't know why (maybe because I really a bunch of shojo and it's more airy?), but it was absolutely stunning! I felt it took me longer to read this volume then usual because I was trying to take in everything as I didn't want to miss anything!I love love love the story! Though I totally got mad at Kageyama for being such a jerk to Hinata! LOL! I totally forgot how rude/mean he is, but on the flip side, I forgot how very awesome Tanaka is. He's always been a great character, but he really stands out and makes you want to cheer for him since the beginning.This was such a fantastic first volume! I absolutely loved it and can't wait to keep reading!!

This is one of my favorite series due to me playing Volleyball. It really brings out what happens on the court not just off it. Volleyball definitely takes teamwork and confidence just like Hinata which I love!

Got this for my best friend’s birthday since she loves haikyu. As expected she loves it!

The book was perfectly packaged and there weren’t any damages.I recommend trying out this series! 10/10

Haikyuu!! V1 is an excellent start for a sports manga. Viz's lineup has been heavily focused on basketball for years however they have slowly expanded to include more sports, for example, Cross Manga, which focused on lacrosse, and now Haikyuu!! with volleyball. Volleyball feels like a new frontier for western releases for manga and I believe it works. Furudate's accessible approach with the sport enables anyone to quickly get into it and understand the intricacies right from the first page. Using a novice as the main character of the volume works wonders in making this an easy to grasp read. High level concepts of volleyball are initially avoided and only introduced once the basics have been defined and even then with a lead character who may not understand it in the technical sense we are able to understand that which was said by seeing the character execute the concept.I enjoyed the introduction to high school boys volleyball club antics as well as the heartfelt story of crushed dreams and a new attempt to tackle those dreams after a high school debut. The many characters, from the senior members like the captain to the bickering first years, including the two leads, but also the glasses wearing snarky Tsukishima, there is much to love. Sure, not every character may be to someone's liking but I think they have excellent chemistry that is only bound to deepen further.Viz continues to translate and letter the sound effects, honorifics are kept as well, making for an easy to read volume. There were no color pages or extras beyond extra sketches and character profiles mixed into chapters.

as an anime watcher i finally decided to start reading the manga since i was so in love with the show. extremely hilarious , relatable , inspiring , and it definitely teaches more lessons than volleyball basics.the book came in perfect condition , no marks or bended pages. it was clean and new.i just wish it would have been wrapped in a plastic for extra protection.overall , this is an amazing series ,, even if you aren’t very into sports [ like myself ] it’s still more than just a volleyball manga ^^

ok, I bought this for my Nephews/Nieces. I didn't read the book. We just finished watching the show with the older siblings and I decided to buy them the first few books in the series (they are avid readers). The younger brother (who was in bed when we watched it) thought the book was funny because the pages were backwards. So he read it. To be clear, he is not a very big reader, especially with COVID setting back his schooling. I didn't think he would even touch the book, but apparently he read it twice in one day! My sister is happy that her son found something that he likes to read. I might be buying more books for him in the future.
