Ecstatic!
These are truly excellent pencils, and the case alone is worth the price I paid for this set. At $25 it comes to 50¢ per pencil and that price is stunning for the nice quality we are receiving. I learned of these from a link in a Facebook group for Art Supply Junkies and had to check them out. I have the large set of Prismacolor pencils in a tin, but with 126 or so pencils, having to pull one tray after another out is rather tiring. I'm pretty sure these are going to get used a lot more. I did run some comparison to color laydown with the Prismacolors, but think I need to retest these against the Polychromos set since these are oil based and not wax based. These did seem shinier than the Prismacolors and came across more like the set of Verithin pencils that I have...but, the points are still very fine on this set and I'm sure they will respond differently once I wear the points down a bit.I saw a question about keeping the eraser and sharpener in their elastic bands and found a very simple fix. I had a slip of white thread left on a needle in my pin cushion, so I snagged it and ran several small stitches in the bottom center of the lowest elastic, where the sharpener is kept (sidewise). I didn't have any black thread handy so used the white and touched it up with a Sharpie (Black Posca Pen actually since I couldn't lay my hands on the Sharpie. It concealed the thread well. I tucked the sharpener down in snugly then slid the eraser down so part is in the bottom "pouch" and the top is still tucked under the upper elastic band. Two minutes of work and the problem is solved. Both are easy to remove but are not going to slide out with normal usage.Bottom line...I am thrilled with this set and so happy that I happened across the ad placed in the FB group. I think they pulled it since they don't allow commercial ads in the group, but I am going to share this link and tell the group about my pleasant experience with this lovely set. I think I may buy one of those fancy new coloring books so I can play with these more. I wouldn't have bothered with my Prismacolors because they are too inconvenient to get at. This case is going to make this so much easier to de-stress...will check out the printable coloring book pages that they offer as well.

... way to package and use a set of really nice colored pencils
This is a handy way to package and use a set of really nice colored pencils. My only complaint is very minor: the fabric is stiff and synthetic-feeling. I would give 4.5 points if I could because it is overall an appealing product. The pencils arrive as pictured. The color selection is perfect, the tips are nice and sharp, and the color goes onto paper smoothly and vibrantly. None were broken, despite fairly minimal packaging, which suggests the pencils themselves are more sturdy than some I have used. I can't speak to color permanence, but in the short run this is a very satisfying product.

A Terrific Color Pencil Bundle Value
As a beginning artist in colored pencil, I was only familiar with Prismacolor Scholars and Sudee Stile wax-based pencils. The Scholars are especially prone to "clumping" and not blending smoothly, depending on the paper I was using. So I was looking for a way to try lots of oil-based colored pencils without breaking the bank. The great reviews on this bundle of these Goodyism 48 pencils, with roll-up canvas carrier, a double-ended pencil extender, a fine paint brush (for blending colored pencils with odorless mineral spirits), a Faber Castell eraser, and even a pencil sharpener, even a PDF of a Mandala coloring book, I had to give it a try.Positives: These really are excellent pencils, with great colors, solid pigmentation, excellent smooth lay-down and layering. See the 48 color patch set for a sample. The quality case is nice and secure with 48 loops and room for the pencil extender, brush, eraser and the sharpener.Negatives: the pencils have no numbering and only the barrels painted so I had to number them myself (see photo--credit to My Color Charts booklet by Chernova, Ekaterina) to be able to refer to the actual colors. In many cases, the barrel colors don't match up well with the actual colors so I strongly suggest making a reference sheet. Also the included sharpener could be much better (a real Kum with metal body would be nice and more complimentary to the quality of the erasor). But if you are trying oil-based colored pencils for the first time, this is a great start.Net-Net: I'm really happy with this and want to see more colors when they are available.

The pencil sharpener could not possibly be more cheaply made ...
The pencil sharpener could not possibly be more cheaply made and is so small...the sharpener is hilarious, I would be embarrassed to say this is a workable "tool". Mine barely sharpens. And hopefully you have another sharpener around the house you can use, as you will need it. The pencils wear down quickly, and the sharpener doesn't exactly sharpen, nor create much more exposed area of the pencil. It makes a very small round tip. I laughed out loud at this tiny, cheap pink sharpener. Otherwise the pencils are OK.

I love this high quality set of 48 pencils that came ...
I love this high quality set of 48 pencils that came rolled in a carry bag! Not only that! It came with an eraser, sharpener, small brush and pencil extender. The pencils are oil based, easy to draw on the paper and easily blending with other shades. The leads feel soft and high quality but still durable enough to hold the sharpener work.No doubt about the quality feeling while drawing with these pencils.I also liked the gift box the set came in, the drawing on it is so artistic and will be a perfect match as a holiday gifts for my friends or for their kids.I absolutely plan to buy another one for my sister in law and for my niece. Both of them like to draw and paint just like me.A nice addition that came with the set is the Mandalas E-Book I received by email and with a push of a button I can print when I want and as many times as I want and dive in the drawing for at least 2 hours. In short, high quality, spoiling and with affordable price.I absolutely and warmly recommend this 48 coloring pencils set.
