Thanks for little wins!
I picked up the BraceAbility Plantar Fasciitis Night Splint Sock to deal with that sharp heel pain first thing in the morning, and it honestly works better than I expected. It keeps your foot in a steady stretch without cranking it too far back, the inside is soft, and the strap doesn’t slide around while you sleep. Most night splints feel bulky or annoying, but this one is easy to forget about once you’re settled in. During the day I’m in my Brooks Glycerins with my Alo leggings and the matching long-sleeve hooded top, and that combo plus this splint has made a real difference. The Glycerins give me the cushion I need, the Alo set moves well and keeps me comfortable, and the splint handles the overnight part of the problem. I’m not limping to the coffee pot anymore, which says it all. If your plantar fascia or Achilles tendon has been giving you trouble, this little sock is worth the try. I’d buy it again.

Good brace. Just didn't fit me right.
There are no easy solutions when it comes to plantar fasciitis. You have to do the work. Stretch your feet every morning and after periods of immobility. You have to wear insoles. But braces at night can do a lot to help. To prevent the plantar fascia from tightening and shortening. In my opinion, there are three options. Hard posterior braces (boot), soft socks, and hybrids like this trying to give the support of a boot but the comfort of a sock with anterior bracing. The goal is the same, to keep you from pointing your toes as you sleep and letting the plantar fascia shrink. You don't need to pursue crazy acute angles, just keep the foot at 90 degrees. Thats why these socks and hybrids work so fine. They allow you more movement intentionally but won't let you completely rest your foot. The hard posterior braces work the best but for many they are clunky and too uncomfortable to wear all night. It drove me crazy and so I didn't wear it, and didn't get better. For the socks and hybrids approaches I urge you to try several and find what works for you. No solution/product fits everyone. I've found the it's the small differences in sizing and positioning of components between brands are what make for a success or failure. Thats why you see in the reviews everyone loves or hates a product. It all depends on how it fits them. I really liked this brace, but ultimately it didn't work for me. The toe box was too big on my foot so it was loose. And I felt it just hyperextended my toes more than my foot/plantar fascia. It was very comfortable otherwise. If you have a bigger foot I think it would work well. Like I said, you just have to try different braces and find the one that fits you the way you need.

Worthless
Pros: Great idea, but poorly designed and implemented Appears to be well constructed in terms of stitching and material Cons: Bad implementation Bad sizing Won’t stay on your foot Obviously not tested I did reach out to the seller/manufacturer first. Their response was basically “meh”. First of all it doesn’t fit. The sock part that your foot goes into is fine but the ankle strap is way too long. For a “medium” the minimum ankle circumference the strap will fit is 10 inches and my ankle at that point is 9 inches. So when I put it on I cannot get the ankle strap snug enough to hold the sock properly on my foot. The sizing chart indicates the largest ankle size that the strap will fit, but not the smallest. Second issue is the tension strap; the strap that pulls on your toe; which again is way too long relative to the sock. Even using the strap in the “extra tension” mode the strap still attached at the end of the Velcro. Then there is the sock itself. The inside is the same ultra-smooth nylon as the outside. There is nothing to keep the sock from sliding off your foot. Pulling in the tension strap pulls on the toe of the sock which pulls the entire sock off your foot; IF you pull on the strap to the point it is applying tension; but at that point there is no way to attach the strap. I’m quite sure this would not stay on a person’s foot through a night of sleep and one wouldn’t get a good nights sleep because they would be waking up throughout the night to put it back on. Maybe a size “Small” would work better for me, I don’t know, but as I said the manufacture was really not helpful. I was really hopeful about this product, but it is horribly designed and the manufacturer is no help about what to do. Maybe the factory simply didn’t grasp what the designer was trying to accomplish. Either way I’ll look elsewhere.

Works, but comes with comfort issues
I experienced almost instant relief the first couple of times I wore this product. However, over time, I began noticing a few recurring issues: Heat discomfort: The sock feels quite hot after a while. On some nights, I actually start sweating inside it. I’m even considering making small holes to help with ventilation. Big-toe discomfort: My big toe sometimes feels like it’s being pulled upward unnaturally, leading to tenderness or mild numbness after a few hours. It’s possible the harness shifts during sleep or that I’m not strapping it correctly, but it’s definitely uncomfortable. Because of these issues, I often wake up in the middle of the night and end up taking it off, which defeats the purpose of wearing it overnight. Overall, I’d give it three stars. It does provide relief and seems to work as intended initially, but it could really benefit from a better design for airflow and rigidity to achieve consistent comfort and results.

Game changer!
What a game changer this was when it came to helping with my plantar fasciitis pain. I attribute this night splint as the reason my pain improved and eventually going away completely.

Decent quality. Got replaced one piece with broken buckle. Seems to be working well for the plantar fasciitis pain

It does not stretch the tendon. Hurts the big toe.

Material is horrible and size is too big, this is a waste of money.
