Schauer 9 Phase 12 Volt Battery Charger 1/8/12 Amp + Maintainer and Rejuvenator

I originally bought this almost 1 1/2 yrs ago to use on my dual Odyssey batteries in my RZR after having issues with Battery Tenders. This charger was on Odyssey's "approved charger list" , so I figured I'd give it a try. Not only has this charger done an EXCELLENT job maintaining my Odysseys (which are mounted basically as a "bank" and uses a battery isolator), but it has been able to rejuvenate some older batteries that I thought were trashed. So, here I am getting ready to buy another one to use on my Sportsman and general duties around my garage. Honestly, as my older Battery Tenders take a dump, this will likely be my "go to" replacement charger/ tender from now on.EDIT: Received the 2nd charger today. Not a big deal, but this charger is slightly different than the previous one I bought 1 1/2 years ago. This charger had SAE bullet connectors on it, and its accessories. My previous charger had Anderson Power Pole connectors (like the one pictured in this ad). Like I said, it's not a big deal to me because I have both styles of connectors on my various equipment. Otherwise the chargers are identical, and work flawlessly, but thought that might make a difference to somebody.

Seems well built and robust and works well with my odyssey batteries as a recommended charger. I like that It has various current levels for charging my big group 31 and maintaining my smaller SLA batteries without boiling them. I wish the battery selection was a little more useful as I don't have gel or lithium batteries but I would like to charge my wet cells at a lower max voltage than it uses for AGM. I also wish it had a temp sensor for voltage as well. Nice charger though, miles better than the NOCO its replacing.

Utilized it to charge a Odessey AGM 28 battery. Instructions were simple and adequate.

Used well over 20 times so far this year and works like a charm. Time will tell, but I looked for the Schauer brand because I have a Schauer Sportsman deep cycle battery charger that I have used extensively for well over 20 years and it is still going strong. I know they were made like tanks back then, but I go with proven brands until they prove me otherwise. So far, I am very pleased with this charger. BTW, I also have the 12 Volt 6 amp model and would review it the same.

Very happy with this charger. I purchased 4 GEL batteries for power backup and needed specific charging parameters, which this charger meets. Make sure you really dig into the specifics when it comes to your batteries. I was amazed at how many chargers out there claim to support GEL batteries, but treat them as if they're SLA or AGM, which have different charging parameters. I did contact the Schauer to obtain the manual and they were helpful and ensured I had all the info I needed.

I'm not a heavy user of chargers. This does a great job for the few times needed

Make sure you only need to use this for 12 months. I had it on the 8amp setting with my Odyssey battery and the connector got so hot that it melted together and burnt my fender. Battery is new and reads normal with a battery health tester. Buyer beware.

I usually go with battery tender but this was recommended by an engineering friend of mine. I went with it because it matched my needed specs perfectly. I have it permanently mounted on my camp trailer batteries. So far it has been great.
