Not good for a Mac - LOOK FOR UPDATE BELOW my first review.
My initial review: Do not get this for a Mac. I can't get it to work. No instructions included, no lights on it to know if it's working (update: there is a small led on it). I was left to just plug it in to see if it works, and it doesn't.UPDATE: The company immediately reached out to me to try and get this resolved after my 1 star review. After getting an email from them containing the appropriate software to get it installed it finally started working and seems to be working well. I have two complaints about the initial process. The software comes on a small disk. So unless you have a DVD player that has a tray and opens you won't be able to install it (most Mac computers don't has this anymore or even a DVD drive at all). My Mac doesn't have a dvd drive so I had to buy the small one that hooks up via usb. I can not use a small disc in those. This product would be better if it came on a thumb drive since a lot of computers today don't have actual DVD drives on them, especially macs.It now works pretty well and seems to be faster than my wireless device in my Mac Pro, which died, and is why I went looking for a replacement. If you get this just make sure you have a DVD drive with a tray on it or be aware that you will need to contact the company for a link to download the software to properly install it. I would give this a 5 star if the initial process hadn't been so frustrating.

So Far So Good
First off there was NO installation CD included in either of the two I purchased (one for a desktop, one for a laptop). Considering the installation instructions start out by saying "install drivers from enclosed CD" you'd think they'd make a greater effort to make sure it was in the package. The drivers took 15 minutes to download from their site despite my fast internet connection. So then the chase was on to find the driver download and install it. It wasn't a good start. Fortunately once that was all sorted out it seems to be working reasonably well but it's showing only a 90% signal strength when my old 2.4 only wifi adapter always showed 100%. So it's early days and I will revise my review if I have any problems!

Works with Mac OS X 10.11, needs improvement with set up instructions and signal strength
I chose this product for several reasons, the main being its support for Apple Macintosh computers with OS X 10.11.x installed (El Capitan) and its extremely small form factor. My SetupComputer: Apple 15" MacBook Pro early 2011 laptopInternet Service: Verizon FiOS 50/50 fiber optic internet connection and wifi router running at 2.4Ghz frequencyMobile Hotspot: AT&T MiFi Mobile Hotspot===Pros:- Small, compact form factor- Affordable price- Time response from support staff- Mediatek Wireless Utility software provides detailed data about network, signal performance and quality, etc…Cons:- Lack of or poor set up instructions for Mac computers- Download speed was lees than competing USB adaptors I tried at the same time- You have to open the Mediatek Wireless Utility to view available networks instead of being able to do this from the menu icon installed in the Finder's menu bar.===I have a 15" MacBook Pro early 2011 in which the internal wifi connection failed to connect to my 2.4Ghz Verizon FiOS wi-fi network signal at home and AT&T mobile hotspot. I needed an interim solution for wifi access since I didn't have the time to be without my laptop to have it serviced. At first, I wasn't able to connect to my wi-fi network, but was able to after a few days of exploring the different options which I explain belowThere are several issues with the installation instructions, which are: 1 - The main issue for me would be unclear instructions provided in the software downloaded from their site. They should clearly state either in the instructions or in the folder directory structure, "For Mac OS X 10.11.x use MAC-11AC installer. For Mac OS X 10.7, 10.8, 10.9, 10.10, please use MAC-11N installer.2 - Lack of set up instructions. Although "Jack " Shiyonghao provided timely feedback to my emails, the instructions he provided where Windows PC specific. Instructions such as "Go to the Start menu, and select…" and "Click the magnifier to scan the network and you double click to choose in the wifi list…". are inconsistent with the Mac UI and experience. If you use a Mac, you know that there isn't a Start menu - there's a start button to start up the computer - but no START menu. To assist jack and support staff with future support questions from Mac computer owners, I have provided a suggested setup instruction guide, which I've posted at the end of this review.3 - Performance wasn't what I was expecting.I must stress that everyone will have a different experience using this product depending on their network setup and physical environment (building structure, interference, wifi network frequency, proximity to the wifi network, etc…). Connecting to my Verizon FiOS wifi network resulted in about 4Mbps Download and 7.5Mbps Upload speeds on average. See attached screen shots. When compared with a competing USB wi-fi adaptor, the download speed for this product on my network and hardware set up was about 4 times slower for download speeds compared to 16Mbps with another product and about the same for upload speeds.===ConclusionI would recommend this product if a small form factor is important for you and your set up or project. At about the size of a US quarter (.25¢), its extremely small compared to other USB Wi-Fi adaptors available on Amazon. If network connectivity and speeds for downloads is of high priority, I would explore other products as this product maxed out at about 4Mbps on average for my 2.4Ghz wi-fi networks.===Proposed Setup Instructions for Mac Computers using SeoJack USB Wi-Fi Adaptor.---SeoJack AC600Mbps Dual Band USB AdaptorSet Up Instructions for Macintosh Computers and Latops.Install Software and Restart Computer1 - install Mac OS X driver based on your operating system-- if OS X version is 10.11, run MAC-11AC installer-- if OS X version is below 10.11, run MAC-11N installer2 - after install is completed, you will need to restart your Mac computer.3 - after restart and login, a new wifi icon will appear in your find menu bar at the top of the screen. HORRIBLE LINUX SUPPORT
Should have done additional research for this puppy... nothing but head aches with a linux server.. will never buy from these people again.. SeoJack did contact me.. they say they don't support LINUX... I have to then ask, why do you have the LINUX drivers on your web site... At least they did contact me, and offer some help, but after searching the WEB, found out that TONS of people are having issues with this device.

Dead after six days
This lovely little thing worked pretty well for about six days. Speeds and signal strength were great. Then on day six I noticed it could no longer see the 5 GHz signal. An hour or so later, it just shut down. I've plugged it into every USB port on every computer in my house and it is completely dead. It doesn't power up and the computers don't even know something has been plugged in.Do yourself a favor and go with a different product if you are looking for a 5Ghz wireless adapter. This one is junk.

Was strong, Went strong
Going strong, great speed. 5ghz works like a charm. Just a little touchy if it gets bumped a bit. Might unplug it. Gets warm, but it's too be expected with such a small one. And the indicator light is dim, but who really cares?UpdateSad to say, this little guy bit the dust after a few months. It could have heated up too much or I dropped something on it. Don't really know what made it go bad. Bought another because it was reliable day to day even when it was left in nearly 24/7 since I got it.

Works fine. At first I tried to download the device ...
Old laptop did not have 5GHZ 802.11AC. Now it does. Works fine. At first I tried to download the device driver from the URL provided but Windows 10 said the certificate was revoked and would not install. So I found an external DVD that was not slot load so I could read the mini-CD. Then it installed fine. Turned off built in WiFi in Device Manager. Plugged in new dongle. Connected to my 5Ghz 802.11AC router.[...][...]
