Black Lives Matter: A Collection of Short Stories

Just finished this terrific book! What a great provision of such wonderful short stories! I often read my books, two and three times. I highlighted several sections and can relate to many of the incidents; although fictional, this book has a very real feel. It is an easy read and relatable to the young and old! I'm letting all my friends, family, and church know that this book comes highly recommended.

I absolutely loved how Farai was able to convey 10 different stories without any of them sounding like the same characters were involved. This book is so rich in the current state of what it means to be Black in Amerikkka and it has me wanting to read more. Thank you for this.

By far this was one of the best short story collections that I've read in a while. I loved the detail of Freddie Gray story

So important to get a broader perspective.

Black Lives Matter is an excellent read. I was unsure of exactly which way the stories would go, when I first picked up the book, but I was pleasantly surprised. I think the most amazing thing about this book is that he was able to capture so many Black American perspectives. As humans sometimes I think it is very hard for us to look outside our own world view, things are viewed through a certain lens, and that lens is shaped by our own personal values/experiences etc. I think what this book does brilliantly is, it forces us to take off those glasses, and see the situation from multiple sides. It is really eye opening. I am planning on purchasing more of these for my family. I want them to read it as well. Great Great book!

Peace. I thought this book was masterfully written. I like how the author was able to educate the audience through the conversations between characters. It was very subtle yet powerful. I learned a lot about Black culture and history as well while I was following the plot of the story.DEFINITELY a must buy, especially for children and young adults. It is written in an educated yet a way that relates to every age group.

This book is a great read that takes the reader into the mind of the author.
