Best $$$ we've spent on our child.
I researched spring horses after my daughter showed an interest at a friend's house. I came across the Rockin Rider line and I was impressed by the beauty of the horses. I located Lacey on Amazon and used my prime 2 day shipping. She arrived quickly in good shape. I watched the video from Tek Nek on how to put her together and found it was very easy. The springs are tight but I found that by pulling the horse closer to each spring, instead of opposite, it worked fine. I put her together by myself pretty quickly. My 2-year-old daughter was enthralled from the moment Lacey came out of the box. She approached her with no fear, which was great since sometimes she pushes away toys or stuffed animals. She stroked the fur and hugged the horse and tried to sit on her, before she was attached to the frame.Once I had it all built, she quickly climbed on and began to push the ears to hear the song and talking. She barely gets off the horse. She plays with her daily, tried to feed her as the mouth opens and closes and loves to let the horse bite her. The mouth doesn't close or pinch, so there is no harm for tiny fingers in the mouth. It's just the novelty of the mouth touching her fingers. The horse is easy to get on and off of, the springs are covered to avoid pinching and our child hasn't fallen off at all.It has truly been the best money we've spent on a toy for her. The craftsmanship is lovely with the custom stitched saddle and the pretty colors. I can't imagine that a little boy or girl wouldn't love one of these horses. They are soft and comfortable. You can brush their fur and mane as well. The volume is adjustable or can be switched off. The right ear plays the Rockin Rider theme song and the left ear plays a series of spoken commands and sounds.Every time I look up and see the horse, I'm amazed at how lovely she is. I wish I'd had such a toy as a child. We love our and hope you love yours as well.

Rockin' Rider is/was a super hit!
This has made a 17 month old girl, very happy. It's sturdy, safe and it's adorable (especially how the mouth goes) when it "sings." It's easy to reach the ears, to activate the buttons for singing or talking. Climbing on is good exercise. You don't want to be much younger to be able to get on and off. Day one, our granddaughter just wanted to look her over from a distance. Day two she watched the mouth closely, and hugged "Lacey" as a way of saying "maybe tomorrow." Day three she kissed the horse, worked very hard to climb up....squeezed an ear and off she went. She went back to it repeatedly. The fun of climbing is a bonus. The sounds are good. One thing I will say........................because people have different expectations for a riding horse; "Lacey" does not freely tip forward and back. Maybe it will have more give later. BUT, I didn't want that to happen....some might. Maybe it has to do with assembly. This toy is a five-star winner in this house..

Great horse!
This is an awesome rocking horse! We bought this for our two year old granddaughter for Christmas. She has had it for six months and still plays with it. When we have play dates all the kids love to ride it. I really like that the springs are protected and she can't pinch her fingers. She is able to put her feet into the stirrups. At first it was hard for her to climb up and get down by herself because she was a little bit afraid, but it didn't take her long to feel comfortable. She loves to hear the music and sings along. She has gotten food stains on the fur and they wipe right up with a soapy dish cloth so don't be afraid of the light colors. We just changed the batteries for the first time. It is very easy to assemble and it takes a minute to change the batteries. It is easy to move around. I would definitely recommend this horse. It is really cute! I know she will use it for a long time!

Love this!
I got this for my 2yr old niece for Christmas she is on this thing everyday! She thinks its a rocket when she watches Little Einstein's. It is now may and 2 of the springs have broken due to rough play by the 6&8 yr olds (exceeded the weight limit a couple of times). It's still holding together with the straps. My sister is going to buy new springs. The batteries run dead fairly quickly maybe a week or two, She loves the rocking rider pony song, I have to play it from youtube now for her. It is pretty durable though I see it lasting a long time. I view the springs as maintenance because it still functions well. This thing has provided hours upon hours of pure enjoyment, not to mention she has rocked herself to sleep on the pony and stayed upright! The best gift I've gotten her!

Broken spring covers in a few days
My 3 year old just received this for Christmas. She loves it and the songs it sings. However, the covers that go over the 4 springs have already split where they bend at almost a 90 degree angle. I don't think this type of cheap rigid plastic they used was meant for this purpose. To stand up to this type of use they would need something more flexible like silicone or heavy duty canvas/cloth. She's well within the weight limit and doesn't ride it more than a few minutes at a time. I'm concerned she may stick her fingers in the split plastic and either get pinched or cut on the sharp plastic. I also noticed that of the 4 rubber feet, one of them is already split with bare metal from the leg pipes just about sticking through. Also another safety concern. Other than the cheap plastic accessory parts, the horse is fun and cute and seems sturdy. I'll update this review if the seller/manufacturer gets in touch to replace the broken plastic parts.
