So excited, what a timesaver!
My two favorite recipes require yellow squash and zucchini to be shredded thinly, like noodles. I was spending half an hour with a mandolin. This blade worked wonderfully! Just as I had hoped! Now, half an hour turns into two minutes! My only complaint is that the shipping took a very long time, even for it to be shipped out. It may have been due to the holidays, but still seemed a bit long. I ordered on 12/30, and it wasn't mailed until 1/4. I just received it today, the 10th. I am thrilled, though, a great purchase!Update - I still love this blade! It has beautifully cut my squash just as well as when I first reviewed it. I needed to shred a raw sweet potato last week, and the shredder blade couldn't do a thing with it. I tried this blade, and it shredded it perfectly! I have hardly reviewed any items, let alone updated my review, so that tells you how much I love this blade!

Tends to get stuck for carrots and sweet potatoes (thicker foods). Works great for softer foods.

Disappointed
Bought this so I could have julienne veggies for salads and stir fry. Just got it today and tried it out as soon as I could. I suppose if you used a vegetable of perfect consistancy, cut and size you might get a decent julienne. I tried it on carrots and got mostly a 'shred' with some julienne pieces mixed in. I'll still use it but I am disappointed. Not sure I want to take a chance at ordering the french fry blade. One piece of advice. I wouldn't use the pulse button with this blade. I did at first and its a miracle my bowl lid wasn't broken the way it was forced off the bowl. The carrots got jammed into the blade and instead of cutting when I pressed the pulse button again it basically forced the bowl lid up. It is possible that perhaps I didn't have it seated perfectly so thats why I'm not making a bigger deal about this than I am. I think it was on correctly, but once it has come off it is impossible to tell. I put the lid back on, cleared the blade, and reloaded using the 'on' button this time and pressing down hard managed to process an batch of carrots with no further trouble, except of course for the shreddy texture of the cut.

Just what we were looking for
Our previous julienne disc was too fine, the pieces were too small. This one is perfect.

Well worth the money-awesome time saver.
I love my cuisinart. Cutting vegetables is so fast now. I used to julienne vegetables by hand for summer rolls - very time consuming. I hesitated on buying this blade because the price is pretty high through a lot of places and I wasn't sure I would really use it THAT often. This was a great deal and works very well. Slicing that used to take hours I can do in just minutes - no exaggeration. Because it's so fast I use julienne-cut veggies more than I used to. This is great for making somen salad or other dishes that you might not otherwise try because of the work.
