I bought this for my headset and really does the job. I was scared a little bit when buying because of some other reviews complaining that this stopped working. And I thought that this happen to me only after a week. But there's a hook and under that hook there's a small white button. The cable should press that button to be retracted.In fact, this seems to be quite durable. I have it since two months now and had no problem once I discovered what does the trick.If you have thicker cables than the ones for headsets, like mini USB cables you should buy bigger versions. I will :).I did not give 5 stars because it's pretty big and heavy (heavier than the cable itself, but I don't know how much lighter can be done anyway.

This product works, reliably.The spring is a little stiff so it is really a two-handed operation – e.g., not easy to pull out the headset while holding onto the steering wheel with half a hand. Also, I find that a bit of care is needed to get it to wrap neatly by both carefully dividing the cable in half such that the plug end is a bit longer than the earbud end, and guiding the wires to split evenly to the left and right of the hook.But in fact the little ritual of putting it away, and the rapid pleasure of pulling it out tangle-free, is quite agreeable. I lost my first one and did not hesitate an instant to buy another.

Anxious for this product to work. Seemed like a great idea. I ordered one to test. It worked great on 2 test efforts then I set aside my headset for my next trip. I was ready to buy several more but decided to wait to see how it worked in real life. Unit broke the first time I used it on a trip. Of course, it is now too late to return. It is a good idea poorly executed. Waste of money for me.

I was excited about this product that I felt I could use at the gym. The mechanism does not always work and comes completely off the roll sometimes at inopportune moments. The idea is good and I continue to use it even though I wish it had some mechanism to keep the cords from coming completely off if pulled just a little too far.

The trigger on one of the 2 units broke after first use. It’s still usable but difficult to use. I like the product but it could be made a little sturdier

Smart design. Very Easy to use. Will want several to keep all the little cords untangled. I wish there was a really small one too.

What an outstanding little gadget. I can't stand the tangled mess that my headphones become when I put them away after exercising. Such a pain when I want to use them the next time. And even worse when I put them into my dufflebag while traveling!!But this little winder solves the whole problem. Just wind up the cord and toss it on the shelf, in a drawer or into a bag and when it's time to use those headphones again, just pull out the cord, no muss, no fuss.The "catch" that locks them into place could be more precise, but still well worth the money.

Not as easy to do as advertised unless you are not rushed. Does the job when you do it carefully.UPDATED: Did not use often since it was hard to coil and recoil. Even with being careful, it broke. Don't buy it. not worth the trouble.
