My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic: Season 5

A Successful Update of the Status Quo
I finished watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic season 5 recently. I immensely enjoyed it. The idea of Cutie-Map-Adventures is a good one because it enables different kinds of episodes. It's a Quest narrative like adventurers from another genre, but instead of something like "defeat the evil overlord" it is "solve a friendship problem". This means that the Mane Six can help someone else with their problem, in a new setting, without having to argue with each other to provide an episode's conflict. I also like it because it shows that the writers/directors etc. aren't afraid to change the status quo. The core of the show remains the same but the nature of some of the episodes changes, there is a change to the cast (addition rather than subtraction, which I think goes better) and progress is made on another front. I'm excited to see where this is going. Some of the episodes have a lot of songs (so many they're practically a musical), but they're good songs so I enjoy them. Starlight Glimmer is another example of this series finding new ways to express the same core. She is a villain with a warped idea of friendship that tries to enforce this idea on others. That is not something that has been done in the series before. Nor is she some evil eldritch monster like previous Big Bads (such as Nightmare Moon, Discord, Chrysalis, or Tirek). She's just a unicorn with power, talent, and a lot of motivation to fulfill her evil plan. Some episodes were weaker than others. "What about Discord", for instance, is one that I think tried too hard pushing its central conflict. I still like but not as much as others, such as "Rarity Investigates". Being a novelist, "Canterlot Boutique" struck a special cord with me. Trickster Eric Novels gives My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic Season 5 an A+

I heard it’s enjoyable to watch AND it also has great messages, too!
I may be late but I’ve been a Brony (which is what they actually call young adult MEN including me AND middle-aged MEN fans of the My Little Pony franchise just like me) since July 2017 (something I should’ve done a long time ago but then of course, I eventually caught up and eventually saw EVERYTHING) and I absolutely LOVE My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic Season 5/Five ON DVD (I also still have Seasons 1-4 also ALL ON DVD to this day AND I EVEN got my pre-ordered copy of Season 7/Seven ON DVD from Amazon the day it came out four months ago)! Especially my all-time favorite pony characters! IF you’re a Brony just like me, then Seasons 1-7 ALL ON DVD are probably for you (I said “probably”)! #Brony #Bronies 😄👍🦄😃👍🦄😄👍🦄👍

Welcome to Ponyville, why not stay awhile?
A gift for my now 10 year old daughters birthday. She loves it and what's not to love. Great animation, great songs, great lessons and great voice acting especially by the always delightful Tara Strong. So visit the ponies and stay awhile or stay forever...wahaha ( in my best little pony evil laugh) you'll be glad you did.

Season five is the best season yet.
Its fantastic. More great stories, and more great songs. Unlike a lot of cartoons on TV these days this one is NOT ridiculously stupid for kids. However adults can enjoy it too If they just give it a try. Season five is the best so far,and the series just keeps getting better ever season. The lessons it teaches are truly worth watching. With a fantastic voice cast and amazing adventures and characters MLPFIM is a MUST SEE TV for anyone young or old. I never saw the original series back in the 80s. But I have been a huge fan of Hasbro animated shows since I was a kid. I highly recommend MLPFIM. What season? Just pick one you can't go wrong, But as I said season five is the best yet.

A good yet unremarkable copy
Unfortunately there is no complete set for MLP Friendship is Magic. However Shout Factory did manage to get most of the show. This a decent copy for a pretty good season of the show.

= Welcome! =
Season5 introduces an interesting character and dives into themes of individuality or equality, loss of a pet, sibling roles, forgiving those you once called your friend, and the effect ones attitude can have on the whole world as we know it. Themes I'm sure kids will appreciate when they've grown up and look back at this show.Plus the 100th episode is on this and it's AWESOME!Bonus features include SDCC 2015 MLP Panel and Sing-Alongs.I personally say this is the 2nd best season of MLP so it's worth owning physically.

Another great season of the show with many of the episodes ...
Another great season of the show with many of the episodes focusing on developing more of the secondary characters while continuing the story of Twilight Sparkle and her friends. There is also a nice minor/major story arc connecting the first episodes and the last of the season that is well worth the effort although many younger viewers might find the ideas of equality as a daunting one to tackle. For myself this is a bitter sweet thing (Watching season five) as ordering the show via amazon is the only way I get chance to watch it. So now I have to wait for season six to be released before I can continue to enjoy it (and more than likely binge watch it) Ah well, at least the movie comes out this year so I have that to look forward too.

Best season
While some of the episodes were a little dull, they made up for it with some sensational episodes.First, Rainbow Dash gets her own song. Then, a certain detestable minor villain reforms. Then the 100th episode focuses on background ponies and is full of stuff thrown in for the fans, as is an epic Luna episode not too long after. Then we get Rarity Investigates, a long awaited Rainbow Dash/Rarity episode, but more long awaited than that is an episode I won't spoil for anyone who hasn't seen it. And then we get one of the three best finales, featuring returns by Chrysalis and Sombra without having to say they survived their defeats in A Canterlot Wedding and The Crystal Empire.
