My wife and I have two little people, my son being 4, and my daughter being 2. Both are very active and love testing the limits of pretty much anything within their grasp (and finding ways to get to things that they can't reach). While I regularly have to remind myself that these kinds of things are completely normal for kids their age, it can be difficult to find things that are built sturdy enough that they stand up to my kids. One thing my wife and I have been on the hunt for recently is a sturdy table-and-chair set for times when we need to give the kids (and their friends/playmates) calm activities to do. We recently spent time with some friends who had this set, and I noticed pretty quickly after giving the table and chairs a once-over that they appeared to be built very well - definitely not the chintzy particle-board stuff scattered all over Amazon that I am sure my kids would destroy in no time flat. I was impressed enough that I added this set to our family Amazon cart and, once the price dropped to a point I was happy with, went ahead and picked up a set of our own.Well, after several months with our set, I will say that I have been nothing short of impressed with how well it has held up, especially in the context of our kids. As a few key points,• Build quality is excellent, and everything assembled very cleanly. My wife and I were actually able to make a date night out of it and really enjoyed working together on it. Yes, the wood is layered (plywood), but it's high quality and very clearly built to last.• To date, the only wear I've seen is from when my son decided to stack the chairs on top of each other to make a fort, which quickly resulted in the chairs' toppling to the ground and getting scratched - though only very slightly for as hard as the chairs fell. Otherwise, everything still looks like new.• The table has a very slightly textured but still smooth surface that cleans easily and is perfect for kid-based activities.• While the chairs are rated for kids and smaller adults, I will say that I have no issues sitting on them. I'm 175lb, so I don't typically put all of my weight on the chairs (just to be safe), but they seem well-made enough to be able to take it without any trouble.That said, if, like us, you have curious, adventurous kids and are looking for a sturdy, affordable table/chair set for them, look no further than this one. It's a winner!

This is a nice little set. Assembly was easy and it is pretty sturdy. I did have to contact them because one of the chair legs was wrong and they promptly sent me two new legs. I've had this set for about a year now, it is used rarely because I am grandma, but it seems to be standing up well to the littles.

Assembly is straight forward, however some of the pre-drilled holes under table for the legs needed redone.The chairs are strong and sturdy. I'm 215 pounds, and they held up fine, although I don't recommend adults sitting long periods,chairs are low to the ground and not comfortable.Quality of tabletop is disappointing. It stains easily. Table is very functional for the kids; they eat, color, craft, etc . After few months the table surface (laminate I think) became stained permanently, see picture.If NOT using the unit on carpet, you MUST apply slip resistant pads to each table and chair; the pegs on bottoms cause chairs to slip/tip easily.Side note, I originally ordered white/pastel, but received white/pink. Not a huge deal; didn't want the wait if returning it, etc..

The size is perfect, looks great, the quality is really nice, we’ve had it for three years it’s seen alot haven’t lost a screw, breaks or cracks … I have had to tighten the screws a few times from a loose leg here and there and that is it really.However please be diligent, it is solid wood has edges and corners and at the right height for a nice ouchie if your little one runs around alot. My two youngins have been also caught many a times using the chairs as ladders to get on the t.v. Stands, counter tops and plethora of other inaccessible areas…They also enjoy sitting or standing at it to do arts and crafts, eat or even feel tall.

Very sturdy. My two grandsons love to play at this table and have snacks. Very pleased with this purchase.

This set is made very well for the price. It’s made of wood instead of plastic so eventually can be recycled. Bright and cheerful. Don’t over do the tightening or the wood might crack, don’t leave water on it for hours or it will warp!It’s not Nursery School quality so the reviews complaining about things should price out that stuff. One Montessori quality chair is about the cost of this set.
