Not the best Rod, but pretty good for the price
Not the best Rod, but pretty good for the price. It's not an Excalibur grade, but better than some bargain hut brands by far.

Excellent rods for the new welder, welding hobbyist, or farmer welder. Cheap but they work quite well!
Pretty much thought "ok here we go, another one of those import jobs where heaven only knows what these things are made of" but for the price of $8 for 5lbs, I couldn't pass it up. I tried these along with the 1/8 6013 Frunze rods and I have to say I couldn't tell them from the Hobart or US Forge rods I have been using for fabrication.These 7018 rods do show the usual characteristics one would expect. They run smooth, tie in well, hold a nice tight arc with the right amps, start up nice but restart kinda rough (typical 7018, gotta tap them), and they do lay a nice bead with good bead appearance.Gotta make special mention, I was running these on DCEP only and burning them around 100-110 amps on my AHP AlphaTIG200x.The nice thin (but smooth) slag layer was cracking and peeling off on its own once it cooled, chipped off really clean and was a breeze to get ready for a second pass.Again I should say I tried these mostly flat and some horizontal joints. They burnt in nice and held the toes if you had your amps right and weren't asleep at the wheel.I was not expecting much to be honest from these rods, but the sale or introductory price (whatever it is) of $8 for 5# is a steal for rods that run like this. The full time welders may be able to find flaws with them and feel the difference comparing 7018's, and I wouldn't recommend cheaping out EVER for grade-A welds that have people's lives or property damage at stake.. but that being said, if you are a hobbyist / farmer / or just a weekend welder, you will get more than your money's worth out of these rods.

Produces a great weld and the package states made in RUSSIA
Received within a week and they are vacuum sealed in a package unlike the Lincoln Brand and the Hobart brand.. Produces a great weld and the package states made in RUSSIA.. wow yes will buy again just for the sealed packages ..

Quality import
If you are used to running 7018 & know all the characteristics of the rod. You will not feel like you made a bad choice. This one is an identical burn as Esab Atom Arc which I normally run.
