Great upgrade to a classic
I love Bic pens. Then again I Love all kinds of pens. This one is really good. It’s a metal version of the classic “Cristal” pen. Really a very nice pen. The cap is plastic though. Probably a safety feature in case it gets stuck in your throat. If you’re looking for refills, just buy some of the plastic Cristal pens and use the ink refill. Also, there is a small button on the side of the pen that you can use to remove the ink refill. Really a great pen!

Nicely done! Comfortable to write with and not too heavy!
They market this like regular Cristal pens aren't refillable, but it's trivial to pull the refill out of a Bic Round Stic or another Bic Cristal, so I don't know what that's about. That said, this metal body is a little heavier than a Cristal and kind of a treat to write with. The mechanism to push the refill out is totally unnecessary, but it works fine and, perhaps, some people will find it easier to use it than not to. The pen comes loaded with a medium black refill and the box contains two more medium black refills. The refills are available for purchase, but we've all got plenty of Bic pens floating around the house. Just take the refill from one of those when you need to feed this metal Cristal.Around here, you can get 10 Bic pens for $1 when the kids go back to school. The rest of the year it's maybe $3 for a pack of 8 or 10. Either way, it's way cheaper to buy a pack of donor pens to get the refills from than it is to order the refills directly. And you can choose your tip and ink color if you buy a pack of pens. If you want to order refills, all I can find are medium black. A shame, really.Anyways, this metal Cristal is a nice pen to use for when you want something just a little heavier than a regular Cristal. If you like Bic Cristal pens, then you'll probably like this as well.

Nice Bic
I’ve gotten three of these because I’ve either lost the first two or someone keeps stealing them from me! I think it’s my kids. They have a nice heft to them and write well. My only complaint is that after carrying one daily in my pocket for the last year plus, the silver paint is wearing off and white is coming through.

Expensive bic pen
Exactly as expected. Writes well and comes with two refills.

The ultimate BIC Crystal
Growing up in the 70s, the BIC Crystal was synonymous with the word "pen" in my household. My family may have tried other pens now and then, but we always had BIC Crystals stocked in the house to fall back on.Flash forward to present day and BIC releases this, the ultimate metal body BIC Crystal ReNew. I am amazed at how writing with this simple, yet upgraded pen took me back to my childhood. Since I like the 1.6mm extra bold lines of the BIC Crystal, I swapped out the included 1.0mm ink cartridge and have been enjoying my modded ReNew everyday. The metal body is not much different in weight compared to the standard plastic bodies, but its less cluttered see though appearance makes for a perceived premium writing experience. My only complaint is the fact that BIC does not sell this in the US and I had to have mine shipped in from the UK. The shipping wait time was long, but well worth it.

Ehh
I bought this because it was on sale and I like the old-fashioned crystal pens but I also like metal pens so I thought oh the best of both worlds. In an actual fact it’s just OK. It still has a plastic cap and the refills tend to just fall out as if there’s not enough friction to hold them in place, it feels great. It looks great but it’s not very usable. If I’m writing or pick the pen up off the paper and the refill just falls out that’s a problem. So just stick with the plastic ones.

I'd give 5 stars if the ENTIRE thing were metal
I love this pen. I love the classic BIC stic and this reimagining is FANTASTIC. What bothers me is that they'd go through the trouble of making something so awesome and high quality, even adding a little side push lever to get ink out when you need to refill... And then they go and put a crappy plastic cap on it. I wish the entire thing matched the awesome quality of the body itself. One of my favorite pens and it's ALMOST perfect! Oh, and if they offered it in gold!
