The End of German Armor in Normandy
A great book with interesting narrative and some unseen unique photos. Also included are color plates of tanks shown in the photos. Useful for the scale AFV modeler for sure. Very happy with the book.

All in all an excellent book on the subject
The price of this one simply couldn't be beat. The book charts a very interesting series of battles and has some excellent contemporary vehicle photographs. These are smaller than I would like, but, in combination with the colour plates, provide adequate illustration of the subject matter. A note about the colour plates is this: the colours are, in many instances, quite "lurid". This is and has always been a weakness of colour plates produced by Dennis Oliver (I have a number of his other works, and his greens are often especially lurid and almost "fluorescent" -- that however, is my only gripe with this volume, aside from some typos (which is more an editing issue). For the price I paid I am super pleased with the book. I sent one to my brother who is also interested in this subject, for his birthday and he was happy with it (although we both already possess extensive libraries on the subject) and I've recommended it to some friends as well. It's a nice work to add to one's shelf, and I recommend it without reservation aside from the issues I've already noted.

... on the Western Front 1944-45 this book is truly excellent and full of illustrations
If interested Panzers on the Western Front 1944-45 this book is truly excellent and full of illustrations. There is much information about these units, unit markings and the panzer camouflage schemes used in this period, highly recommended.

A good book for modeler or history buff
Unlike some similar books, the author leads the reader to make some of their own concussions based on historical fact.A great example is when a tank was not positively identified in photos, he described which units were in the area based on historical records and their reported tank count of that type. He also uses similar paint schemes they were known for and other identification or equipment on the tank to either eliminate or suggest which unit rather than assume he guessed correctly. The color drawings of some of the photos were well done for modelers to recreate the tank color scheme. He explains possible inaccuracies of tank numbers color from black and white photos depicting faded white or yellow based on historical unit background . I’d much rather see this than different concussions stated as fact, when certainty cannot be proven beyond a doubt. Overall I enjoyed it as both a history buff and WW2 modeler.
