The Real Deal
If you want to look as the real deal for a classic look, get a diamond tip bow tie, and self-tie of course. Once you learn how to tie it, you will never go back to the clipping thing or other ways to use a bow tie, this looks way better. The trained eye will notice it right away, and the not so experts ones will wonder what makes you look much better than the rest. In this era of internet and YouTube, it is fairly easy to find instructions on how to do it, and with a few tries you will learn, honesty it is not that hardWith this in mind, this is a very high quality tie. The silk is smooth and shines just right, not too much to look like satin, not to few to look like fake silk. I tied it and untied several times to get the perfect look (diamond tips are not easy given their natural asymmetry) and the fabric didn't suffer a bit, it ended up looking amazing. The tie has an adjustable band with an equivalency to regular shirt-collar sizes (32, 34, etc) so you can easily know the proper length of the tie and it doesn't hang on your neck or suffocates you once you tie itDo you remember Harvey Keitel in Pulp Fiction? Well, that's the look!

Great bow tie!
I absolutely love this bow tie. The only negative thing I can say is that the whole neck adjustment thing was confusing. I couldn't figure out how it worked. I had emailed the seller and they responded promptly with the information I needed- which is that there are little slots where the numbers are, so you take the t-clip, you have to go through the other clip first then hook it in one of the slots which corresponds to your neck size. Anyway, I absolutely love the neck tie, after watching a few youtube videos, I was able to tie it. Great quality, looks great, awesome price and the customer service was good. All in all good transaction. I would recommend the seller put the information about the adjustment either with the bow tie or at least on it's page.

Awesome bow tie!
I got this bow tie for a friend's wedding I attended this summer. Everything about it was perfect. The size is adjustable, the color was exactly what I expected from the photos online, and the price was great. However, the bow tie came untied after receiving it in the mail. That was unfortunate because one of the main reasons I chose this bow tie was so I wouldn't have to tie my own. But now that I learned how to tie a bow tie I'm never going back to to self tie bow ties. Ultimately, it's a great product and would suggest buying.

I really wanted to like this product more
I really wanted to like this product more. Its appearance and texture are both very nice, and I'm a personal fan of the diamond tip. The problem is that the fabric begins to fray (if slightly) even on the first use. It looks as if it will only continue to fray, shortening the life one would hope to get out of it.

One of the better ties I have owned
One of the better ties I have owned. A diamond end bowtie is impossible to find at mays. This one has held up well since I purchased it for my wedding and it has a nice sheen. It is not pretied but looking at a couple of youtube videos I was finally able to figure it out.

Frayed along edges after 3 wearings.
I bought this tie for my wedding. It looked nice. Then I took it on our honeymoon cruise. By the third use of the tie it had begun to fray around the edges. It looked terrible and I was very disappointed in the quality. I called Tie Bar about warranty and replacement and they were no help. They said since I bought from Amazon and not directly from them they couldn't help me. Well, unless you use the tie enough during the 30 day Amazon return policy, you're out of luck once you realize the tie is defective.

A Classic
This is the best quality tie of this style I have found on Amazon. I wish that I could fine a similar square end tie of the same size( most modern square end ties seem to be made for clown costumes .This tie is approximately 1.75" on the square end , most modern square end ties measure 2.5 to2.75 " ( I already have a 60's style bow tie that a thinner parallel style "bow" tie).
