Diagrams could’ve been better but the book was brilliant
This book was well written and one of the most technical soccer books I’ve ever read. It gave me a great understanding about the significance of a formation, transitions, and last but not least player movement. My only critique is that the diagrams are all in gray and different shades, extremely small, and very very difficult to see. I would like to see a reprint that was a little larger and more defined as far as the diagrams go. Perhaps even the book itself being larger in dimensions?

Proofreading aside, it’s got good info
I agree with a lot of other reviews that it really needed a proofreader and editor. Feels like it was rushed to print. But the info is good, the diagrams are good, and it’s a concise summary of the concepts. And they’re thought provoking concepts at that.

Theory
There are no practices to show in the book and it’s more about a theory on positional play. I would not recommend as much but it’s useful to understand the idea from James perspective.

Clearly Articulation of Advanced Concepts
I really enjoyed James's first book. Rotations is a well-written book with visuals that hammer home the concepts he discusses. This is an excellent book for players and coaches.

Meh
This book started off really strong and I decided to buy it after reading the sample on the Kindle. Once I got a little deeper into it I quickly regretted the purchase. It may just not be what I was hoping for and this book may work for some people but I found it rather confusing and not helpful to understanding tactics in ways I had hoped to. I was determined to find some new knowledge I could grasp into and was able to better understand certain rotations and when to use them in general but I don’t feel I truly have a grasp of it. I would not recommend this book. I am not even sure who it is for. Not really for beginners, not for intermediate fans (which I would classify myself), and not for experts. It seems to be a mix between beginners and intermediate, but doesn’t do a great job in either place.

Poorly organized
There are a few nuggets of information in the book, but it is poorly organized and poorly written. The price isn’t too high, so if you have never seen rotations it gives a good overview of what they are, and how they look in the structure of a game. No practices or implementation concepts are provided.
