MOVE ALONG FOLKS. NOTHING TO SEE HERE.
Put this set of solar lights out on the end posts of our new deck steps (still in the works). Since they didn't light up beyond a dull glow the first night we allowed them to soak up the sun for 3 days before passing judgement. The picture you see is the end result. One has an barely visual glow, the other no glow at all. Unfortunately, I am past the 30 day return since our deck steps weren't ready at the time of purchase. I'm sure there are better solar lights available on Amazon, we just didn't make the right decision with these. I'll update with a better choice.UPDATE: Pay the extra the first time around. Our new lights are amazing. They light up the bottom of our stairs at night beautifully and are way better looking. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NQ6DFLD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Place Silicone around seems
Great lights but a 8$ additional purchase will make these things last a lot longer.I purchased these light to place on my 350$ 3x5 post and rail fence, to help prevent them from rotting and splitting, from rain and bird poop. They are awesome because they mount in the middle which makes them work on anything they look awesome and provide great light, now I can sit on back porch with out the light on and not get attacked by bugs. But I did notice that water was getting in around the solar grids on top of the light with a 8 dollar bottle of silicon And a tooth pick I sealed around the grids and the bottom of the top housing where it housing the electronics. By doing this they will last a life time and for 8 dollars I was able to do 8 of them with plenty left over for other projects. If you want nice lights for your deck or porch what ever I would take this simple inexpensive step and you won’t have to return them or place them after a few months of use Hope this helps people. Update two years later still going strong as ever very happy with purchase and will not would buy again, so I did these lights are awesome very bright easy to use and hold up to weather

Great solar lights
These work great, bright, last all night. I wanted them to be movable, not fastened down, so I painted a 6”x6” ceramic tile satin black, and siliconed it to the bottom to give them some extra weight, as they are very light weight. Worked out very well.

Great lights and worked right out of the box
Great lights and worked right out of the box. I like the way they look on our 4x4 posts and how they are mounted. The light is plenty for us, as we only want accent lighting and they actually are brighter than expected. I don't understand the bad comments about instructions. It's not rocket science to twist the base off and attach to your post and then twist the top off to turn on. I didn't even bother to download the instructions, they are super simple to install.

Very impressed after a long search
I searched far and wide for the perfect solar post caps for my new deck. I read the comments on many different solar post caps. A lot of mixed reviews, some ok, some not too good, some really bad. Then I came across these. At first glance, I really liked the look. I liked the fact that they don't have a bezel that's supposed to fit snugly around the 4x4 post but, in most cases, doesn't. These are more free mounted on top of the post, very cool, I like that. Sleek and simple. Many of the reviews of these talk about the consistent functionality. These have a great track record of working as expected out of the box. After looking over the customer pics, I decided, these are the one's. I bought 4 two packs. Every single one worked on the first night. Now, I did pre-charge the batteries but, only because I didn't want to wait the suggested two days of initial charging to turn them on. I'm only a few days in now but, they are working perfect. As soon as it gets dark out, they light up and as soon as it gets light out, they go dark and start charging. I got up this morning to let the cat out around 5am, still somewhat dark out, and they were all still shining bright, THAT'S 9 HOURS!!!. They don't light up like a flood-light but, that's fine with me. If you're looking for that, just buy a flood-light, seriously. They are great ambient lighting to find your way in the dark or just have in the background. Also, the price is very good. If you do your homework, you'll see what I mean. If you've been looking for solar caps for your 4x4 posts, I highly suggest getting these. At least try them out and decide for yourself!
