Fine as a TV, but DO NOT buy as a PC monitor
Based on the other reviews, i bought this to use as a PC monitor. Well... it works and it does 4:4:4 chroma at 60Hz, it just doesn't do it well. Attached are pictures of the Avera on the left, and a true samsung 4k on the right. No amount of tweaking can remove the pixel blurring without making the screen loose color. The colors seem a little washed out compared to the samsung as well. This thing is probably fine used as a TV but DO NOT buy this expecting to use it as a PC monitor. This kind of pixel blurring can make reading a real pain.

Bad Sound Quality
I bought this TV as a Christmas gift to myself. The sound quality is horrible! A new TV should not sound like the speakers are blown especially in higher octaves- and it has never been turned up to full volume. The picture quality on the other hand is perfect.

Had to return it. Sound was terrible.

A good bargain 4K TV after a few adjustments in the service menu.
When I first wrote this review, I slammed this TV for major picture quality problems when viewing 4K content. I have since found ways to resolve those problems. I would now recommend this TV to anyone looking for an inexpensive 4K TV, as long as they are willing to go into the service menu to adjust a few things. I am using it as a computer monitor and am happy with it overall for that use.My original review is below. I'll leave it there so that some of the comments made by others on it make sense. Here is a summary of settings changes that you will want to make if using this as a 4K computer monitor:1) Menu, Setup > Other Settings > HDMI 4K - changing it from Standard to Enhancement enables 4:4:4 chroma for 4K at 60hz.2) Sharpness (service menu) - needs to be turned down to 30 or lower. Setting it to 0 will completely remove ringing.3) Color (service menu) - needs to be turned down to 45 or lower. You can access the service menu by pressing the following buttons on the remote in order: Menu 1 1 4 7.One thing I've noticed as a result of trying out a similarly priced Samsung 40" 4K TV is that the Avera seems to have a good response time. The Samsung had a lot of smearing during quickly moving scenes. Smearing is much less noticeable on the Avera, to the point of being a non-issue unless you are really picky.*** Historical review and updates below ***I don't normally review products, but felt that I should in this case to warn others who are picky about image quality about a few major limitations of this TV. Hopefully the company will address these issues with a firmware update. If they do, I'll update my review.Pros: PriceCons:1) Can't adjust sharpness while viewing 4K and it is set WAY too high, with lots of ringing. When viewing 1080P, you have to set it to Graphic mode to not have the edges of the image cut off, but then you again can't adjust the sharpness. The over-aggressive sharpening isn't as noticeable when viewing 1080P, probably due to the upscaling, but it still makes the picture look bad. If you are at all picky about image quality then I would highly recommend avoiding this TV until they update it to allow for the adjustment of sharpness. ***See below for an update on this issue***2) Despite the HDMI ports being version 2.0, chroma is limited to 4:2:0 for 4K at 60hz. That's not a problem for watching movies or other video content, but it is a big problem if you plan to use this as a computer display. I would have expected this limitation from a television made two years ago, but to see it in a modern set is very disappointing.3) It doesn't seem to save your settings when switching between resolutions. The video mode kept reverting back to power saver, even when going back to a resolution I had previously configured.I haven't yet tested how well this TV handles 24 fps content (movies), so I can't comment on pulldown or judder. The image is too distorted for me to want to look at, so I doubt I will do any more with this TV until the company fixes at least the sharpness issue. I have an email in to Avera's customer support about that issue. If I find out that they don't plan to fix it then I will be returning the TV.*** Update 12/29/2016 ***I finally received a reply from Avera technical support about the sharpness issue. They gave me the access code to the service menu as a resolution. To access it, press the following buttons on the remote in order: Menu 1 1 4 7. The sharpness CAN be adjusted in the service menu. Setting it to between 25 and 30 greatly improves the picture at 4K. Below 25 the picture seems to get too soft, but I need to test this further. There are lots of other adjustments that can be made in the service menu, so it will be interesting to see how nice the image can be made to look now.Because I can now adjust the sharpness, I've updated my rating for this TV from 2 stars to 3 stars.*** Update 2/28/2017 ***It turns out that this TV does support 4:4:4 chroma for 4K at 60hz! The setting to enable it isn't where I would have expected it to be, isn't named well, and isn't documented though. To enable this, open the menu, go to Setup > Other Settings > HDMI 4K, and change it from Standard to Enhancement.Because of this, I've updated my rating from 3 stars to 4 stars. I will make it 5 stars if the company improves the menus and the documentation at some point. I would now recommend this TV to anyone looking for an inexpensive 4K TV, as long as they are willing to go into the service menu to adjust a few things.I would make two recommendations on service menu adjustments for anyone using this as a 4K computer display. First, the sharpness needs to be turned down to 30 or below, as I mentioned above. After working with a lot of test images, I've turned it down to 0 on mine to completely remove ringing. Second, the color saturation needs to be turned down to 45 or lower. Blue is especially over-saturated.

Like the other reviewer
Like the other reviewer.. It works but I wish it was the one pictured. The one in the pic shows a nice sleek model with thinner looking feet however the one I got is like a thicker looking black model... So if you're going for the look then you're probably not going to get what you think.Add to my previous comment: Got it sat and set it up for use on my PC as a 4K monitor. I was skeptical at first too because it's not a widely known brand and had no reviews but the price was pretty hard to beat.So I've been using it over the weekend and really like it. Blacks aren't the darkest and it seems like I can see the back lighting panel through the screen itself when there's nothing else being displayed on it. But, when you're doing regular tasks on your computer or watching a movie and even playing games, it's a great display. Response time is low, was able to play all my games including Battlefield 1 with no issues. So I would highly recommend this as an alternative to something more expensive. For me, it was a toss up between something like this and a curved 34 in which was 3 times as much. I went with this and am happy.

Re: Joshua
I bought and received this tv on 11/9. I turned overscan off and this fixes the image cutoff issue while staying in video mode and still being able to adjust the sharpness. You also need to set the picture mode to user and this allows adjustment of almost all the options except tint.I based my 5 star rating on the quality of the product for the $ I paid which was $195.Update 11/12/16I got a 4K Mi Box and was able to test 4K. I did have the same issue as Joshua where with a 4K source you can no longer adjust the sharpness but based on several samples and netflix streams most did not need sharpness adjustment. A few however were very grainy and unwatchable, but I think that has to do with the media/source and not the TV. I still feel it's a 5 star product for the price that I paid.
