An excellent, affordable protein bar for people on the move.
I've tried many different varieties of protein bars - everything from Clif bars to Power Bars to various Nature Valley and other offerings, and I prefer this bar above all the rest. My quest has been to find a bar that has a large amount of protein, little sugar, relatively few calories, which is very affordable, and which is relatively shelf-stable and sturdy so that it will still be intact when I need it. Another constraint that might seem strange is that I wanted something that was very edible and good-tasting, but not delicious, so that I wouldn't be tempted to eat them except when I'm actually hungry. This bar is perfect for all of those criteria. I usually buy them at a grocery store, for basically the same price as they are sold on Amazon, but occasionally I get them here if my local store is out. At ~$1 per bar, I consider these a much better value than other offerings, and moreover far more nutritional per calorie compared to other offerings. (Clif Bars' Builder Bars, for example, also have ~20 grams of protein, but have as many as 2x the calories of this bar, cost 2-3x as much, and are no more filling in my opinion). Substituting these in for less nutritional, less filling, and less affordable other snacks has helped me maintain a healthy weight without breaking the bank. I take them backpacking, eat them for meals/snacks if time is tight, and keep a couple in my daily bag for a rainy day.

Taste Great for a Protein Bar
People this isn't a snickers or hersheys bar.... Its a protein bar and it taste like one, but its really good for a protein bar. I have tasted many others and this is my favorite. I tried the Smores and the Chocolate chip and I wanted to choke... Those were awful. I now just buy these peanut butter ones. 20 g of protein for only 200 calories - does not have 180 like the picture says. At 200 cal and 20g of protein you cant ask for much more. I have tried to find other bars with 20g of protein and they are all higher in calories.... No thanks. Many times i'll eat 1/2 for 100 cal and 10g of protein for a little snack. I no longer buy granola bars filled with sugar. These are chewy not crunchy. Put in fridge, I think they taste better from the fridge compared to a room temp box in the pantry. I always have 2-3 in the fridge and replace as I eat them. They are dense and do keep you full for a while. Some days I'll grab an apple or banana and one of these bars and I am good to go until lunch. They have other flavors, but after the disgusting smores and chocolate chip bars, I'll save my money and stick with these or try to find them at a local store first where I can buy one to taste and not be stuck with 2 boxes. And last..... Hello.... They are less than 80 cents for each bar when you use subscribe and save... 9 dollars for two boxes... Hell yeah :)

Arrived in great condition, very tasty
I'm honestly not a fan of protein bars. They all taste like cardboard or mud to me, but my mother absolutely loves these. She munches on them constantly and insists they taste amazing. She loves that they're so dense and filling. I'm just pleased with the speed of arrival and the quality. I live on an island, and the humidity destroys pretty much everything. Any food I purchase has to be triple bagged and locked in sealed containers, and even then, it's usually all stale or ruined within a week. Most of the time, in fact, food purchased from stores ARRIVES stale and ruined. It's a serious problem, and there have been too many occasions when I've purchased these same protein bars and found them stale when I opened the box the same day of purchase. These bars, though, arrived within two days, even to my little island, where shipping always takes three or four days longer than it does to anywhere else. They were fresh, not melted, and wrapped so well in plastic that I didn't have to bag them as much. Several days later, they're still good. The price was also a little better than what I could find in stores, and since I ordered enough to qualify for free shipping, I'm doubly pleased. I'll be ordering these again.

Good Bar, Good Source of Protein in a snack
For those of you who has acquired some knowledge on protein diet to lose weight or gain muscle, please know that this is ONLY A SUPPLEMENT - NOT FOOD PROTEIN. If you really want the purest form of protein, eat egg whites or lean meat (Chicken/Turkey Breast, Beef, etc). Ok, that being said, you cannot carry eggs around, that's where this bar comes into picture. It has excellent amount of protein (20g) and low carbohydrate. It tastes absolutely delicious. I have always used (about 4-5 bars in a week) DeTour and Myoplex Protein bars. Detour has about 30g and Myoplex has about 25g of protein but their carb content is higher as well, and so is the calories. I am trying to lose weight, so I am watching both proteins and carbs, also doing cardio 5 times a week. I am not a nutritionist, but I am pretty sure the contents of these protein bars contain mono-saturated fats, which is not so good for our health. So, limit the use of these products as much as you can. Also, it has whey and sugar alcohols (sugar replacement), which can upset stomach for some people. I had that trouble with Detour but got used to it. The important thing is that you drink atleast 8 fl oz of water while taking this. Also, please limit your intake of these bars to 1 per day due to sugar alcohol presence. Recently, I have done a lot of research and it's best to eat whole grains and vegatables/lean meat to lose weight, instead of taking supplements. Good luck to you all, I think these 12 bars will last me atleast 3 weeks. I took one star off just because I do not want to encourage myself or anyone else to get addicted to these bars. Otherwise, it tastes just like a chocolate.

These Pure Protein bars are great! Cheap and yummy. They're more dense than other bars such as Quest bars. So even though they're smaller in size they're actually quite hearty because of being so dense and I'm definitely satisfied after eating one no matter what flavour. The chocolate peanut caramel one is a tad softer & less dense than the others because of the softer peanut flavoured center. The chocolate peanut caramel flavour is one of my husband's favorite and reminds us of a snickers or mars bar. Its similar to the Atkins endulge caramel nut bars which are also on Amazon. It reminds me almost of Purdys pb chocolate bars but less sweet. We absolutely love the strawberry greek yogurt flavour of these bars as well and it's a nice change from chocolate flavoured bars. It's a nice balance of sweet and strawberry flavoured with a few little strawberry flavoured crunchy bits throughout. And it's not too sweet. It's very good! After trying one we immediately purchased another box lol. I saw someone say the chocolate coconut flavour reminded them of a bounty bar. It doesn't remind me of a bounty bar but rather it's very akin to a dense dark chocolate brownie flavour but with coconut on top and coconut flavour added. It has a touch of a bitter note to it but it's good as well. It would be great if you love dark chocolate and/or brownies and like coconut flavour. If you're looking for something like a bounty bar, I highly recommend trying the Atkins endulge chocolate coconut bars. Those are definitely just like a bounty bar filled with coconut center like bountys. My husband and I also love those and most of the other Atkins bars as well. The chocolate salted caramel flavour of these Pure Protein bars are good too but a tad strong in the caramel flavour. Which I didn't think would be possible as I love caramel. But I like this flavour of these bars as well. They'd be especially delicious in the fall & winter. If you love caramel flavour you'll like these. They'd be a lovely Halloween treat due to the caramel or during the holidays. They remind me a bit of how an old fashioned icecream shop smells when you walk in and smell the caramel and hazelnut notes. The red velvet flavour is one of my least cared for flavours which is shocking because we love red velvet flavour. It's very mediocre and tastes like a too mild basic chocolate center with a meh outer white coating. Neither the center nor the outer coating are very flavourful whatsoever. They're very bland and could definitely do with a revamping of the recipe. It's as if they didn't try at all with the red velvet flavour and just threw something together quickly. It's kind of like a cheap bland brownie with some unsweetened white chocolate or something as the outer coating. Very bland. The only plus I can see to this flavour would be if you're sick with a stomach bug or morning sickness or something where you need something more bland flavoured. This is the most bland flavoured out of all the flavours I've tried. Ironically, the red velvet flavour has the highest grams of sugar alcohols out of all the flavours I've tried. They all have a small touch of a bitter note due to the protein and sugar alcohols but are definitely still delicious and aren't sickly sweet. My husband and I really limit sugar in our diets and these are fun for us as they're much like a candy bar. All of these bars do feel like an indulgence and a treat rather than like a protein bar. They're fantastic. I really enjoy their density as it's a nice change from softer more aerated type bars and it's satiating and satisfying. Similar to how the Cliff builders bars are dense but these have way less sugar and are smaller more like the size of a regular snickers or mars bar etc. I thought the smaller size would be a bad thing but their density makes up for that. I highly recommend trying these bars as they're affordable and packed with protein and are different than other protein bars on the market due to their density and seeming more like candy bars. It's hard to limit myself to just one a day as I feel like sneaking a second before bed as a treat lol. Whereas with other bars such as Quest bars I definitely know I'm eating a protein bar and don't find myself wanting another. These really are more like sugar free candy bars. The next flavours we'll try are the regular chocolate peanut butter, the chocolate chip and the chocolate deluxe though there was some negative reviews on the chocolate deluxe flavour on here. I'll update this review once I've tried the other 3 flavours!

Really tasty protein bars perfect chocolate taste. The price is fair for the quality and protein content, making it an easy go-to snack.

I’ve had whey protein that tastes good and in multiple forms (shakes, bars, etc) but I’ve gotta admit none of them tasted quite as bad as this. It starts off ok - the first bite tastes good and you think you’ll finish the bar thoroughly satisfied having gotten your complement of protein. Yet when you do actually chew and swallow that first bite, you’re left wondering how you’ll go through all the 12 bars. The taste is really awful after a few chews and the after taste is downright disgusting. I’m hoping to find myself in situations where I’m properly famished - so much so that I find an excuse to put another of these bars in my mouth and get my moneys worth
