Like most people, I was initially attracted to this product due to the mention of Bioactive Organic Cordyceps Ultra in the title. The prospect of getting enhanced health benefits from a stronger extract of organic cordyceps mushroom stirred much interest. And, this product offers 400mg of Organic Cordyceps Extract per capsule, which is decent. But, then they add 150mg/capsule of their Proprietary Blend Mushroom Extract, which includes 7 mushrooms (note that two cordyceps, sinesis and miltaris, are in this blend). The other mushrooms, besides the cordyceps sinesis and cordyceps militaris, are popular and oft studied mushroom varieties: Reishi, Turkey Tail, Maitake, Agaricus blazei, Shiitake.The potential health benefits are derived from organic compounds, and this supplement notes an excellent supply. "More than 60% polysaccharides, more than 20% beta-1,3/1,6-glucans, extremely low levels of (less than 2%) alpha-glucans." These compounds are considered the bioactive aspects that translate to health benefits regarding cardiovascular, immune system, cognitive/neurological systems, blood pressure, energy/mood levels. To see that this supplement concentrates these compounds is an excellent product feature.The labeling displays certifications/badges for Gluten-free, Vegan friendly, Non-GMO, USDA Organic and 3rd Party Tested. All good badges, but the USDA Organic and 3rd Party Tested are very noteworthy. They show attention to the integrity and purity of the ingredients. Yes, I would have liked GMP and FDA registered facility badges/certifications. However, the two mentioned badges carry some gravitas. If it had GMP and FDA certifications, it would probably be a 5+ star rating. But, lack of these will not significantly ding the rating (since it has USDA and 3rd Party Testing).With 90 capsules/bottle, a 2 capsule suggested serving will provide 45 servings. A months' supply is my minimum threshold for supplements. So, this easily meets that measure.Based on the ingredients and the quality of the extracts, this mushroom supplement easily meets expectations. The USDA Organic and 3rd Party Tested are important certifications. Overall, the product is exactly as described and shown in the product details. Accordingly, this cordyceps extract, with proprietary blend, earns a 4.75 - 5 star rating, with a very high level recommendation.

These Bioactive Organic Cordyceps Extract capsules from Labo Nutrition are decent for the price. The bottle arrived to me packed inside a cardboard box. The box is full of information about the Cordyceps in the capsules, and the other smaller amounts of mushroom capsules included. The bottle also contains a lot of the same information on the label, however the box is a bit more detailed. There are 90 capsules per bottle, and the suggested serving is 2 capsules. Each 2 capsule serving contains 800mg of Cordyceps Extract, which is standardized to 60% Polysaccharides, 20% Beta-1,3/1,6-Glucans, and less than 2% of Alpha-Glucans. Alpha-Glucans is described as being a type of polysaccharide with no known medicinal properties.This standardization is a bit different than some other Cordyceps extracts I’ve taken, normally they don’t mention the Alpha-Glucans, or they mention Polysaccharides and, “Cordycepic Acid”. Still, being standardized to 60% Polysaccharides puts this Standardized Cordyceps extract up there, as being one that is standardized to contain a higher amount of Polysaccharides than some other Standardized Cordyceps extracts.Besides each 2 capsule serving having 800mg of Cordyceps extract, there is also 300mg of a, “Proprietary Blend Mushroom Extract” that contains extracts of various other mushrooms.The capsules are easy to swallow. The pick-me-up I get from this Cordyceps extract is similar to what I feel from other standardized Cordyceps. I do take at least 3 of these capsules, since 800mg of Cordyceps is a bit low for the amount of Cordyceps extract I normally take. This Cordyceps Extract is good for what it is, it is as advertised here, 90 capsules or Standardized Cordyceps Extract and the price is alright for what you get.

The cordyceps in this product is not a naturally grown wild fungi but has to be grown under special conditions in a factory. The wild type can cost over $20,000 /kg making it the most expensive mushroom in the world. Nonetheless, I think this product contains an adequate amount of cordycepin (800 mg/serving = 2 capsules), which is basically the active ingredient people seek in this type of fungus mushroom. I think this is a very good cordyceps supplement and am glad I got the opportunity to review it. It also contains a proprietary blend of other healthful mushroom and also beta glucans which are very good for a number of health reasons.
