The Adventures of Tiller and Turnbuckle: Adventure One St. Simons Island

The book was very well written. It was not from a human's point of view but from an animal's point of view. I liked this because it made the book different from others. I liked that the pirates were parrots instead of human pirates.I recommend this book because it was interesting and it kept me on the edge of my seat. I liked it so much that I could not wait to finish reading it, after my homework was done, of course. I think that this book is fun to read for boys and girls. It was written at a good reading level for me and would be fun for a parent to read to his or her child.

My granddaughter attends the school where this author teaches. She loves the book and had been asking for it since last year. The price was very good, the book was in great condition. She is very happy. When she is happy then Granny is happy!!

We found out about this book while visiting St. Simons Island. My boys (7 & 10) are enjoying the story. It's especially fun because the author describes places we've been on the island (lighthouse, Ocean Blvd, Village, East beach, Neptune Park, etc.) and this helps my kids visualize the story as well as remember the fun we've had there the last two summers. They love stories that feature and are told by animals. I also like the fact that they are learning new things through the story too (sailing terms, new words, etc.). There is a glossary at the back too. I think this book is going to end up in a school book report.

My 10-year-old doesn't love reading, but he thinks these are the best books ever. He says that "It's full of adventure, animals, and excitement." He's looking for the fourth adventure, but there doesn't seem to be one. I'd love to find more books for him by this author.

This story is a wonderful tale for children and adults alike to enjoy together. The unexpected friends of a dog and a cat share a wild and wacky adventure that leaves you wanting to know where they will end up next! Once I began reading, I couldn't stop until I reached the end! The quirky characters keep you wanting to turn each page, to find out what sorts of shenanigans they'll find themselves in. The story is one of friendship, humor and most of all it shows that being ordinary isn't for everyone...read this book with it's extraordinary characters and you won't be disappointed!

This book was the most intriguing adventure that captivated both of my children, myself and even my husband. Although written with animal characters it presents important lessons on friendship, working together and taking care of each other. Additionally, the story presents real life sailing experiences that capture the imagination and put a smile on your face. This book is a must read for all who are children at heart. You'll find it hard to put down.

The book was GREAT!!!!!! I read it in one day -- I could not stop reading it. I really liked the story-line, and the idea of having it being told by the grandfather -- that was fun. It had a lot of fun twists and turns which surprised me, adding that great element to the story. I can't wait for the sequel!
