Nature's Way Sambucus Organic Lozenges Mint (24 Count)

This cough drop has eddleberry and zinc and is well formulated. It is organic and tastes like a cough drop with all the ingredients to soothe a sore throat. Although the product is trusted, during the time of crisis, this company who distributed it is charging over double of what the lozenges typically cost. This is unethical. I would never order from this company again as it has no integrity to charge double.

As a scientist, I'm always skeptical of the claims of these types of products. Last month, though, I felt a cold coming on at a time that I was really busy and could not get sick. I went to the pharmacist and asked about zinc, whether there was any scientific evidence that it helped stave off a cold or reduce its length. He said "yes, as long as you catch it immediately." I asked again if this was evidence-based with articles in scientific journals and he said "yes". So I bought some and, I know this is anecdotal evidence, but I took as directed and my symptoms (sore throat) did not get worse and were gone within three days. I will certainly be doing this again next time.Anyway, these lozenges are not the ones I took then, but I'm keeping them for next time because these are less expensive than what I got at CVS (where I picked the least expensive version) and zinc is the critical ingredient. These have a slightly medicinal taste, but it's not at all unpleasant. Much like a throat lozenge with a slightly menthol taste. I wouldn't call it "delicious" as advertised, but it's not bad at all. The ones I got at CVS, with a citrus taste, were better, but they were also more expensive. And these have the advantage of being individually wrapped. I will purchase again.

Not much more to say than in the headline. It does have some menthol taste, so not as sweet as the image may make it seem, but it's not supposed to be candy anyway.

Good flavor. Nice way to get extra zinc.
