ABRAHAM LINCOLN

Lincoln, like Washington (whose DK Biography I also have and recommend), is a much-loved and little-understood figure. This is a very enjoyable way to get to 'know' Lincoln. It's not six hundred pages, but it tells you what you need to know if you want to understand him, from his impoverished childhood to his amazing rise to the Presidency and his legacy. It's an informative, easy and riveting read! And the book has a timeline at the back of the most important events in his life, which is nice.

I find every DK book is excellent, this bio of Abraham Lincoln is no different. DK is known for their travel books, but they do a just job on this bio. Not much historically new but is a great quick overview! Well-read Civil War Historians would find there is nothing new, but it is a well-edited and a beautiful book. It's only 128 pgs long, 7-1/2" x 5" in size. But truly worth adding to any extensive Civil War library. I'm happy to add it to my library. Extremely perfect for history class for pre-high school, and high school. Love it.

great pictures for my 3rd header and awesome read

It is such an easy quick refresher read. The author did a good job of condensing President Lincoln's phenomenal life. Passed it onto my 8th grader niece.

good book, an easy read, plenty of photos, would be suitable for all ages, would have liken it to be a bit longer
