Update November 2016This leash is great except for the carabiner. I take the whole collar on and off now rather than unhooking the carabiner. As I am in the process of training my dog, the leash needs to go on frequently, and the carabiner makes this difficult. The carabiner is heavy too, and I don't think it is very comfortable for my dog. Nothing wrong with the quality whatsoever. The leash and the carabiner are definitely sturdy. Now I am hoping to find a leash of similar quality with a less daunting carabiner.____________________________________________________________________________________________August 2016The leash is strong and so is the carabiner. I needed a longer leash than the one that I had, for training my border collie. This works perfectly. I can tighten and release my hold on the leash easily without worrying about my grip slipping when I try to real him in. It is very comfortable to hold and the texture makes it easy to grip without hurting your hands.I am subtracting one star for the carabiner, because although it is strong, it is VERY DIFFICULT to open and hook onto the collar. Other reviewers here have mentioned the difficulty in opening the carabiner as well. When it first arrived, I had to elicit the assistance of my husband in order to hook the carabiner to the d-ring on the collar. I appreciate the strength, however it seems a little like overkill especially since the D-ring is in no way as strong as the carabiner. At the very least, it seems like it could have a small pull lever or some other way to open it easily with one hand instead of two. I am hopeful that it will loosen up a little and become easier to use over time.Aside from the issue with the carabiner, the leash is very strong and easy to grip. For training my border collie, I needed to find a longer leash that would allow me to easily control the tension. I am able to both loosen the leash and grip the leash tighter for different training purposes. The leash has a very comfortable grip so I don't have to worry about the losing my hold if the dog tries to pull me.

I've only had these leashes a couple of weeks. So, far they are fine. I purchased these due to the clasp, which does look unbreakable. I have small dogs, one a 20 lb'er and the traditional clasps have broken twice when he jerked the least quickly. The clasp came apart on these previous leashes. I also like the padded handle. However, I would like this leash better if the entire leash were of a thicker, more padded material, especially for the price, which is about $l0 more than I've paid in the past for leashes.2d modified review: I'm not as keen on this leash now, especially with the price. I purchased due to the clasp/carabiner. The handle is nice, and if the entire leash were of more than one ply/layer, like the handle is, the leash would've been perfect. My dogs are small and when they walk, they stop, turn around, sniff, etc. Hence the leashes twist. The leash itself being one ply just totally twists itself up into a cord practically and takes a few minutes to unwind itself. This occurs in just a few minutes. I'm attaching pics showing the dogs on leash with them twisted, after I took the dogs off leash and still twisted, and my 3rd dog with a regular old leash, but of a thicker material, with only a few and not as tight twists. I tried to find the manufacturer to advise them of this issue, but all I could find was that they are located in Ukraine or Kiev and could not find a website for them. I'm sure I'll be looking for another leash. I'd modify this now to two stars due to this problem. A clasp alone is not all there is to a leash.

Very VERY durable dog leash with carabiner that literally unbreakable! This is a pretty intense leash for sure and as the product states this is for medium to large size dogs.. I would not recommend using this on a little dog ( keep them in your purse). When I held the leash for the first time I thought is was rather heavy and thought may be uncomfortable for my dog to have weight on its collar. I decided to weigh it and it actually doesnt weight that much! I use a leash with the collar and a body harness and I feel it works well with both types. The only suggestion would be to make sure the collar is snug. With my pup, his collar is loose so the weight of the carabiner kept pulling the leash down to the ground and the leash would end up between his legs. Other than that- I love the carabiner, it way more functional then the typical clip you see on most leashes. I like this leash so much that I have ordered another one that’s on the way. I like having a back up that I can keep in the car. After experiencing the terror of having a regular leash unclip at the wrong time, I was determined to find the most secure mechanism available. I’m a 55+ female and I have no problem using this carabiner style clip. Yes, sometimes it takes a few extra seconds to pull down and clip to my dog’s collar. The peace of mind knowing the leash is secure and my dog is safe, is well worth it. Spring clips loosen over time. I didn’t know this but learned the hard way when I reached to adjust my dog’s collar and, with barely a touch, unclipped her. My dog is well-behaved and well-trained, and she returned to me immediately — after she dashed across the street, narrowly missing being hit by car to greet another dog. Even the most obedient dog can become overstimulated where there crowds of people and many cars. Don’t hesitate to buy this leash.
