Perfect for gaps between 1-3mm & 5-8mm
You get a 5m long roll strip that you simply cut with a pair of scissors to the desired length.Crease the plastic strip with your fingers along the centre (with sticky tape on the outside).Remove the self-adhesive tape cover and apply.Very simple.Downside is that it doesn't provide that 'soft cushion' effect when closing your door or window, that you get with the foam/rubber type of draught excluders. I still find that the rubber seal are more suitable for 3-5mm gaps. However, this is ideal for those small gaps that the foam or rubber variety are too thick for... especially if you're faced with narrow gaps (i.e. 1-3mm). It's also great for gaps larger than 5mm (up to 8mm), although due to the (stiff) plastic nature of the material, it doesn't cope very well with varying thicknesses of gaps along one length, but nothing to say you can't cut different sections to suit varying widths of gaps and butt together - just may not look very neat. The folded width is approx. 11-12mm.If choosing the brown version, be aware that when it's folded, the plastic actually turns white along the crease.

Simple and Effective
The product looks a bit feeble on arrival but actually works very effectively. The fitting instructions could be a lot clearer or have a link to a decent youtube video somewhere and I had to do a bit of research to find out the position to place this within the door frame. Points worth noting are:1. you won't have enough strip to do the bottom of the door, I think it would be pretty useless here anyway with the foot fall and get kicked off.2. I kept the door frame's rubber seal in-tact and fit the strip as close as possible into the back of the door frame, see attached photo so it went behind the door lock.3. It is worth snipping a tiny mitre into the corners where the sides of the door meet the top so the strip can spring out a little.Anyway, not sure how robust this will be long term but the draught excluding is excellent and there has been a dramatic reduction in external noise coming through the door as well.Hope this helpsGary

Good, works well but awkward to install.
This draught tape is ok and works well but traditional foam draught tape is much easier to install.I wasn't sure what to expect with this draught tape, but it had good reviews so I thought I would give it a shout for our internal garage door. The tape itself is a thin, hard plastic roll of tape with a bend/fold running vertically along its length. The adhesive tape is on one side and the idea is you fold the tape once installed, creating a 'v' shape, which is open when the door is open, but slightly compressed when the door is closed (creating a seal). The issue when installing is that in any house where your door frames are painted, the surface is very likely uneven. Flexible foam draught tape compensates for this well. This tape however doesn't, making it very difficult to keep in place.Once it is stuck down properly, it does stick well - it would just be easier to install with two people. Now the tape is installed, it works well - so well in fact that when I open the garage door, it creates a 'whooshing' sound like a vacuum-sealed door like you'd see on a spaceship in movies.Overall, it works well and I'm happy now it is fitted, but it is difficult to fit alone. Also, one quick tip - do not go over the hinges like I did, otherwise you are just short of a a single door (on 5m roll) at the end and have to buy another roll.

I never knew this stuff existed, except as an invention in my head, and then I found it.
Perfect. Exactly what I dreamed of having. That's not an exaggeration. This really is what I need to fix my crappy front door. Foam seals never worked right. They just made the door hard to close. This nails it. Needs a little creative thinking if gaps are uneven, but I got that sussed. Full V double layer for the fat gaps and cut out bits of the V flap where the gap is too small for the whole V. That keeps a solid adhesive grip along the full length of the gap, without jamming the door too tight.

Could do with some improvement
Our old balcony door is very draughty and although good rubber squashy proofing tape works on the hinge side, the gaps are so variable on the opening side and top, that the door cannot be closed properly, or locked. This product seemed ideal since I'd successfully used a similar product STOPGAP for floorboards and beneath skirting boards - it worked well. Stopgap is non-adhesive as it's a permanent fitting - this product clearly has to allow doors to open and close so the adhesive keeps it in place - rather it should keep it in place.First issue is that if you are not careful, you can easily pull away the adhesive with the covering paper tape. So you have sticky tape and no sticky on the V profile so it'd be useless - so take care to separate the paper tape from the film of sticky tape - leaving that on the v profile. Secondly, it's just not very sticky. I scrubbed the surface with cleaner and mild abrasive, washed it down, dried it, wiped with white spirit and dried it again - and this stuff still won't stick securely as others have pointed out. I realise this might be some sort of technical problem that's hard to overcome, but maybe something as simple as having half the v profile matt finished so the (hopefully better) glue stayed stuck to it. Or maybe some kind of other application - like a glue to use with it - not for me to say really but I see others have had to pin it or add their own glue to make it stick. That shouldn't have to happen and to be honest this product is not really fit for purpose in all situations. It's also only a short length. Old doors are draughty, but they are big too, so this needs to be a couple of metres longer.
