Intel Xeon Phi Processor High Performance Programming: Knights Landing Edition 2nd Edition

This is an excellent technical treatise on the Knights Landing processor series. It is not for a newcomer to high performance computing, chip architecture, or code optimization. Some additional comparison between the Knights Landing and other architectures would be a useful addition.

Great book! Couldn’t be happier with the level of detail.

Definitely not a book for beginners. Helps understand the reasoning behind the different cluster and memory modes. I like the chapter on Intel Omni Path and the one on using vectorization on knights landing. Bonus points for vectorization adviser and touching on CNNs.

Das Buch bietet sehr viele und detaillierte Einblicke und Details über die Knights Landing Architektur. Auch Beispiele wie der Xeon Phi programmiert werden kann werden gegeben. Egal ob Memory Modes des MCDRAMs oder AVX512 Intrinsics, alle wichtigen Themen werden besprochen.

Suffice to say that its one of the most interesting and easy to follow book I have ever read. I am a mathematician and use mixed language programming. It was nice to see examples in C/C++ and Fortran.
