These little things are great for cooking eggs quickly. At first you might have to play with cooking time and power level for your specific microwave oven. I find just under a minute at 5-6 power level on my microwave works really well to cook the eggs how I like. Generally, more time for a hard boiled texture and less for soft boiled or poached. You have to remember to pierce the egg white and the yolk with a toothpick before cooking or they might explode. But the ease with which eggs are cooked makes this a wonderful tool to have in your kitchen. I try not to buy specialized gadgets, but there is no substitute for these save for a big pot and lots more time. I usually just cook eggs to put on a ham, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich, but the cookers come with instructions on how to do scrambled eggs and omelets in them. I'm sure that would be good too. If you like eggs without hassle, you'll find these egg cookers invaluable.

These are about as good a tool for a small kitchen or bar setup as you are going to find. Simple, easy to use and clean. The reality is, with a microwave poached egg - air pockets in both the yolk and the whites can expand and pop. So, even poking the yolk with a fork or toothpick is not going to stop all the eggsplsions.One simply must scramble the egg slightly before cooking - and this simple container allows you to do that in a mess free and quick way. The lid blows off easily when some small inevitable popping happens - and has nothing to do with the product - it is simply a reality of poaching eggs in a microwave.

Doesn't work. Lid has two small holes for ventilation but the lid keeps on popping up during the heating and the whole cup jumps round. In the end you have a burnt egg in the cup and a mess in your microwave

It seemed like a great idea. I followed the instructions meticulously. I kept trying to get an egg poached the way I like it--soft. I went through more than two dozen eggs. I finally gave up, and threw it out..

These are better than the similar ones I used to have. The tops don't lock down, so be certain to pierce the yolk to avoid explosions. I don't use these any more for two reasons: (1) hard to clean- the plastic seems to have partially melted around the upper cooking area; and (2) I add more ingredients lately so I use a ceramic coffee cup instead of these (it doesn't get those rough melted areas that are hard to clean).It may not be melting. A 40 second cook time shouldn't do that etching around the inside. Perhaps it is some chemical reaction. It just means you have to scrub a bit to remove the egg residue. The eggs will be delicious and get better as you experiment with different ingredients.

Quick and easy to use. Only down side is they're a little hard to clean. But worth the money since it's a healthy way to make eggs easily without any added fat or oil.

I love these things, they cook the eggs evenly and fast and are a breeze to clean up. I started packing an egg in each of these to bring to work and just pop them in the micro for 35 seconds for quick poached eggs at work! It comes with some great recipes as well. Thrilled with this purchase

These work great. I followed instructions, but after first 20 secs, stirred, and then only cooked for another 20 secs, not 30 secs. Turned out perfect fluffy scrambled eggs. Same for poached egg. Love it. If you do more than 20 and then 20, you risk having the top pop off with eggs splattered everywhere.
