Ineffably soul-healing
This book so clearly spells out the human need and experience in such a loving and gracious manner, one can't help but be uplifted and understood and, thus, changed. I feel like a profoundly different person from when I started this book. The stories and anecdotes drew me in and helped me heal my own past hurts and grow in new ways. It was an unexpected joy. Thank you, Dr. Karen.

The forgiving self journey
I have read the first about 30 pages and have found it very interesting. However, I haven't picked it up again in about a week, so it hasn't captivated me.I would still recommend it to some friends.

Great book. I thank the author for taking the time to share his insights with us. Besides the enjoyment of reading, i learned. He writes well, his choice of words, the many well chosen examples. It was a pleasure to read. I'm going to read everything i find he wrote, including interviews and articles in internet. His care, warmth, interest, knowledge come through. Hugs and thanks!

I am reading it slowly as there is so much useful information on forgivness and not the shallow kind
I have not finished this book as yet - but it is one of those very helpful books that come along once in awhile. I am reading it slowly as there is so much useful information on forgivness and not the shallow kind. This book addresses mourning, blame, guilt, shame regrets, etc. I have recommended it to my therapist. Anyone would find relateable information.

Amazing!
This book helped me through a really rough time in my life. I love how the author uses relevant examples and then elaborates with text. A wide variety of topics and issues are covered and whether or not the topic is the same as what you're going through, the content can be applied easily to your own situation. I have recommended this book to so many of my friends! Truly life changing.

The Forgetting Self?
So honestly I couldn't keep reading this book. It really does seem to boil down into a sort of 'I'm okay, you're okay' kind of treatise in which brokenness and dysfunction give way to forgiveness at the cost of an almost indifferent, zen-like moral drift. But to be fair, I couldn't keep reading it so...

amazing book.
Karen is a fantastic author. Check out his book on attachment too. I am using this book with a client in therapy who wanted to focus on issues of forgiveness.
