Tough to read...
Before I start, I want to let everyone know that I did not finish this book.I wanted so badly to read this book and finish it but I just could not.Pros:Great concept!Good location, close to my home town :)Good main character, I really enjoyed Jordan's strength and brains!Cons:Not enough character or location development. I did not always know where I was and had no idea what each place looked like. As I stated above some locations were close to my home town, but I was still just guessing about what I was seeing. Same goes for characters. I didn't know how people looked. I like to get into great detail, down to eye shape and color, silky or curly hair, so I can really see a character and this was missing for me. I was often confused about who I was reading at any time because it was just names but no strong descriptions to make them stand out.I thought some of the transitions were to fast and unpredictable. I didn't feel like that section was really over before I was plunged into a new section.I felt like the characters were emotionless. Lots of people were dying and although they said they were upset or unhappy, no one reacted in description. Pounded fists on the table when they found out another one of their breast implant patients had died or rubbing a head in frustration.I am an Education and Business major so the medical jargon left me very confused. I tried to keep up but it was over my head.I noticed there were details about characters that were insignificant, like a waiter, but not about the main characters. I could see that waiter crystal clear, but I had no idea what the main characters best friend really looked like. Also, speaking of this waiter, his name was given, but he didn't even have dialogue or a significant part in the story.Lastly, there were some unclear time shifts. I couldn't tell how much time had elapsed from the hours to the days. All and all, I really wanted to get into this story. REALLY. I think the story is very interesting and the characters could be great. But it was very hard to read.

Good story albeit too technical and needing editing.
I enjoyed the story line in this book but I have issues with two things. First, sometimes he gets so technical that I have no idea what is going on. He must remember that the average reader does not know all of these medical terms. Second, the book needs some serious editing. I found that, especially where he has dialog that the writing was severely lacking. That being said, the book was worth reading and I am considering reading some of Mr. Meza's other books if they go on sale. I wouldn't want to pay full price for them. Although in this book you figure out early on what is causing the deaths, a lot more is going on in the story. It keeps you turning the pages trying to find out what is going to happen next.I would say it's worth reading.

Whirlwind thriller!
Silicone Dr. Carlos Meza, a physician who has evaluated many women with breast implants, offers us a whirlwind thriller with a pen that combines facts and fiction with a literary and journalistic style. This is the perfect book for travel reading, Fall reading by the fireplace and as Christmas present. Dr. Meza's book takes us into the seedier side of medicine, steroid smuggling from overseas and the resulting victimization of women who had breast implants because they simply wanted to look sexier. A brief exploration of Dr. Meza's background suffices to demonstrate that this author has a long term commitment as a physician to women's health care issues. In fact, part of the proceeds generated by the sale of this book will be donated to the breast cancer foundation. Dr. Meza is a talented new author and all i wanted to do after finishing this book was to read his next one.

Good storyline but a lot of medical terminology....
Good read overall.Pros:- Believable story- Strong & complex characters (even one of the bad guys)- Lots of activity and fast pace -- no boredom- Credible presentation of common problems with medical technology, funding of government oversight organizations, etc.- Cooperation of various non-government organizations to find a solution to health-related issues- Many other good reasons to read this novelCons:- Primary character was a little "too perfect"- May be too much medical terminology for some, in fact, way beyond the average person's understanding - at times, there were pages and pages of text describing medical procedures -- for example, blow by blow of a brain surgery -- it's obvious the author knows his stuff but I found that much of it didn't add value- There's a lot of pontificating -- towards the end, I felt like I was reading the same stuff over and over

Good Story, needs editing.
I enjoyed the story overall. Good buildup, great tension, and good resolution, while allowing the characters to continue their lives without us after having caught them in a glimpse of time when their lives were possibly at their worst and at their best. I would have rated it 5 except for the fact it needed a really good editor. The quotes and paragraph changes made it difficult too often to follow who was doing the talking. It also appeared that after everything that was italicized there was no space between the words, but that was easier to read through than the misused quotes.

Easy to get lost in the story - a good read !
It is a page turner and quickly gets the reader wondering what will happen next. The places are real and the book is almost prophetic if you keep informed on the subject. The protagonist is strong willed with great tenacity, like most women I know. It is good to read about characters like that. The story has just enough medicine talk to keep it real. I look forward to Dr. Meza's next book.
